Today’s blog post is about the three laws of nature for all life anywhere on our planet. These are axiomatic laws not subject to debate, research or your beliefs. All decisions that life has made revolve around these three things. Reducing things to these three things is simple, but the application in how life and evolution has done it is very complex. Today, we begin to unravel the mysteries.Continue Reading
Readers Summary What links autoimmunity, cancer, neuro-degeneration and autism? How does nature’s law of electromagnetism play a role in these diseases? How does the magnetic field destroy calcium and magnetism signaling in cells when they are deficient in energy? How do nature’s three fundamental laws (the photoelectric effect, water chemistry and the electromagnetic field) act upon every living creature on a planet where it evolved? “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” ― Philip K. Dick The quote serves a great purpose today. Most people in alternative healthcare believe that the cause of autoimmunity is tied to something heinous in our food supply. I do not. In fact this recent article about gluten and celiac disease in the New York Times raises this point. So what causes celiac disease? That is the topic of today’s installment. Let us begin. The Field Effect When we have an altered field due to excessive EMF that blocks the normal ELF EMFs from the Earth’s magnetic field, we get non-thermal effects directly in our brain and across our brainstem. The work done by Robert O. Becker and Carl F. Blackman are critical in understanding how a field effect can […]Continue Reading
We are all products of our environment. Our genes are the first draft of what we are created to be, but the experience those genes face (epigenetics) is how the novel of our life is really written. This blog is about how this experience begins to unfold in our species.Continue Reading
Today, we begin to examine levee’s 6, 14, and 26 in the Quilt document for the first time. We begin to show examples of these levee’s by examining how the human brain forms and functions in an infant. This example will act as an analogy to help us understand many other processes as the blog series rolls on.
There are many countervailing influences in life that on the surface confuse our intellect. They create the appearance of paradox, enigma, and myths, and mysteries. I find when we look at the world through the hull of a glass-bottom ship, to look through a kaleidoscope at the galaxies that exist on the edge of our mind, we begin to see the sense that nature makes from the chaos of the world. I like the irony that mysteries often create. Today, we are going to use some “other observations” we have all made to show you how the mysteries of our modern world might be solved asking better questions instead of settling for the answers we have been given.
The Human Infant
It is clear in modern medicine now that we can not have optimal human brain development unless we have a secure nutrient rich food supply for both mother and child. This relationship also needs to be maintained postnatally for several years after birth until neuralation is successful. It does appear in modern neurosurgery research that human brain development is programmed genetically to a certain extent, but is more malleable then we thought because of the new science findings of epigenetics. This is also more apparent in humans than other mammals because our brain is so complex that even small changes in functional regions can lead to massive clinical changes that become apparent as the child develops. Autism and spectrum disorders are a good example of this phenomena.Continue Reading
Two years ago I gave you the Hormone 101: Clinical thoughts revealed blog post. That was a small dose of reality at the beginning of this journey. There was some foundational hormone biochemistry there given to you in simple terms. Most people jumped all over the free T3 link to pregnenolone in the post. They thought that “their cure” for hypothyroidism and/or chronic pregnenolone steal syndrome was increasing free T3 or just lowering reverse T3 to raise pregnenolone. So what was not observed?
A trip down memory lane for the hormone cascade
Leptin resistance occurs first in the brain. Then insulin resistance happens soon their after in the liver, gut, and peripheral tissues. This eventually leads to adrenal resistance. This resistance occurs at the PVN in the brain. (Brain Gut 16: Adrenal Fatigue Rx) It does not happen in the adrenal gland. What happens is that the outflow from our sympathetic system in the brainstem overwhelms the parasympathetic nervous system. This increase in overall cortisol initially, is the stress hormone that allows for fight or flight syndrome (life or death). As this condition persists chronically over time, cortisol levels decrease and flatline on adrenal stress index testing.Continue Reading
There is so much buzz now in modern healthcare and on the internet about Vitamin D but does anyone really know how it is integrated into our physiology? Most people understand that Vitamin D is tied into our bone’s metabolism and our immune system’s function but there is a lot more to this story. Vitamin D and its receptor, along with Vitamin A and its RXR receptor are among the oldest chemicals life has used to exist in evolutionary biology. This alone tells you how important Vitamin D is for function. Vitamin D is directly modulated by photoelectric effect, which is a foundational law of nature and quantum mechanics. The skin and brain are both derived from neuroectoderm in all animals. In EMF 2, we saw how obesity might be related to an inflammatory condition found in the brain due to a lack of electrons and photons. Today, we are going to examine how Vitamin D works in a quantized fashion.
Many physicians have confided in me that just do not believe that Vitamin D levels are that big of a deal for most patients. When they say that to me, I return a smile. It is not that big a deal for the doctor, but it is a huge clue about what is going on with the patient. For me, it is one of the most critical lab ‘thermostat values’ that tell me about the “preload of their semiconductors” in their skin and body. Yes, it is a quantum signal, to me as a physician. If you remember from the video’s made at Paleo Fx 2011 and our Optimal reset challenge, that I said we can do a quick “biohack” using three labs and tell a lot about the person’s current conditions of existence and where they need to go. Those three labs were the HS-CRP, DHEA, and Vitamin D. So far we covered DHEA in detail in the CPC blog of 6/30/2012 and in the back half of EMF 7. We have covered HS CRP in multiple places. Inflammation is the major signal that all biologic processes and respond to. It is what the hormone panel responds to and it dictates the thermostat for mitochondrial efficiency, signaling, and control of the cell cycle. The inflammatory signal also sets the tone for “tight” circadian control via the adenosine signal.Continue Reading
If you remember my podcast several years back, I told you the disease that got me interested in all this was osteoporosis. This is a disease I treat a lot as a spine surgeon. I discussed Wolff’s law in detail in the EMF 1 blog. When I realized that Wolff’s law was null and void in leptin resistance states in bone, something else radical appeared to me. I knew that Leptin Resistance signaled inflammation, and inflammation could be seen as a positive charge and loss of a negative charge on MRI’s, fMRI, and MEG studies. I also realized that MRI or NMR should show an increased flair signal on T2 weighted MRI images signifying an intracellular water loss coupled with a loss of collagen and of ATP. Collagen makes up the main protein of connective tissues in all mammals, typically 60–70% by weight. The water and collagen constitute a liquid crystalline matrix in which every cell in the body is embedded, making this system the ideal medium for intercommunication in eutherian mammals. Within this matrix we have learned about proton and electron superconduction that not only feed the underlying mechanistic pathways that most biochemistry recite but they also feed a rich “wet chemistry” that is fundamentally based upon special qualities of water. It turns out water has some prodigious quantum flexibility when it is confined in closed spaces that make it do some unique quirky things that no classic chemist would predict. These things are all predicted by quantum electrodynamic field theory. One such quirk is the use of water reverse micelles around proteins that increase enzyme action and kinetics by the order 10 to the 10th power based upon the pioneering work of Frank Mayer and Jim Clegg. Classic physics and chemistry thinks of water in its bulk form only because that is all the classic sciences can explain about it. In quantum coherence, where water acts as a total cohesive unit because it has infinite chemical freedom, water becomes highly structured chemically, from its bulk form to do some amazing things, to become extremely flexible in phase transitions between ice crystals and liquid crystals and gas vapor as it gets confined in small diameter nanotubes in our cells. Water dynamics and actions are quantumly altered as it is confined within nanotubes it develops properties that allow it to collectively work dynamically within reverse micelles and in proton superconducting cables that align along collagen in the cells cytoarchitecture to allow for super fast semiconduction. This has been reproduced by many physics and molecular biology researchers in electron photomicrographs and X-ray diffraction studies. The most amazing property water develops as it is confined in these nanotubes, it becomes a super catalyst that organic chemistry has missed, because it accounts for the energy of activation of biochemical reactions and enzymatic kinetics. It is not ATP that does this, ever!! ATP has another more critical function. It unfolds protein in cells to open water binding sites to form these super conduction cables to create 100% energy efficiency.Continue Reading
“The miracle of your mind isn’t that you can see the world as it is. It’s that you can see the world as it isn’t.” – Kathryn Schulz
Without risk, life is worthless; without risk, biology does not work. Evolutionary biology is based upon the random risk of natural selection and and the conditions of existence. Darwin coined both of these terms but only explained the first well. The second idea was his better one, but he simply could not explain what conditions of existence meant. The reason was simple. He did not understand quantum field physics. Of the two, he said he knew, the latter was the most powerful force in biology. He was dead right, but since his time evolutionary biology and my critics have believed natural selection is the most important. It is not true. Today, we know “conditions of existence” meant epigenetics. Darwin spent the rest of of life looking for ‘epigenetics’ in an idea labeled “Pangenes”. He believed that Pangenes were responsible for translated environmental influences that have now become known as epigenetics today. Today we know that small frequency EMF’s called the Schumann resonance imprints water and creates life where their was none by using the power of quantum coherence of water. Evolution is in large part, about how these electromagnetic epigenetic signals are transferred to the living organism to living organism by bioelectrical cellular communication; it’s comparing quantum resonance notes and frequency notes and copying and pasting new epigenetic signals on RNA and DNA to make new genetic recipes to create a survival solution from life’s current condition of chaos. When we understand how that dish was created, we gain deep insight of how to keep that dish tasting fresh every time a generation is replicated. Today trans-generational epigenetics tells us something is badly off in our species.Continue Reading
“If you are out to describe the truth, leave elegance to the tailor.” —Einstein
The implications of the last blog, EMF 2 are massive for biology. Those two space experiments show us that time contractions when we lose the sensation of magnetism, and it dilates when we increase it. This implies we can die faster or reverse disease if we understand how it affects us. With this knowledge I knew I could help reverse many neolithic diseases. But it dawned on me on the plane ride home it also might explain how life really began in our oceans.
The irony here, is two days before, I was standing in Rome in the Sistine Chapel showing my son the center panel of Michelangelo’s masterpiece ceiling. It was then I realized I might want to know God’s thoughts. I want to know God’s thoughts in a biologic way……..and the path to that way used an alphabet called evolution.Continue Reading

Why is the clock the most important part of the story of life?
Have you ever had a dream that seems so large in scope, it just seems like it just possibly cannot come to fruition? I have for the last 7 years. Today, I am going to share it with you.
It is time. I believe all dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. It is always easier to make a dollar off a dream, but it is a lot tougher to make a difference with one. I think EMF-2, is going to do just that for everyone.
I told you all last March, on Sean Croxton’s underground internet radio show, and at Paleo FX 2012, that environmental mismatches all cause inflammation. Many of you found it a bold and interesting statement, but I never told you WHY. The reason I did not, was because I did not feel you were ready to understand my perspective, yet. Today that changes. When you do not understand someone’s perspective often times what they say sometimes sounds a bit ‘bizarre’ to you. The reason it does is because you have no frame of reference for understanding, primarily because you were never taught that space/time, might be the most critical factor in understanding trans-generational epigenetic biology today. That is going to change today as well.Continue Reading

WHAT ARE THE KEY METABOLIC NEUROLOGIC KEYS TO OUR REAL SOLUTION FOR HEALTH? 5. WHY METABOLIC NEUROPHYSIOLOGY = OPTIMAL HEALTH? Many have asked me how I have the physical and mental ability to do all I do. It is pretty simple. On my own journey to Optimal I stumbled into some neural science that showed me where optimal nutrition meets optimal performance of all types. Since I found this evolutionary use, all my abilities have increased exponentially. I can do things now that I could not do even in my prime years when I was in college, medical school, or in neurosurgical residency. I mentioned this when I was in Austin in March. This blog series is my goal of fulfilling a promise I made in March 2012 at Paleo Fx that there was a lot more to the paleolithic template than the current tribe believed. [show_if has_tag="No-Webinar-2012-08-August"]Buy Webinar[/show_if][show_if has_tag="Webinar-2012-08-August"]ACCESS YOUR WEBINAR[/show_if] We talk a lot on the blog about the brain-gut axis and the implications our gut has on our overall health, including: Most brain disease and neurodegenerative disorders start in the gut (tumors, autism, depression, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s, hypertension, heart disease) start in the gut. Autoimmune diseases like MS starts in the gut when your gut flora is changed to a more simplified flora, allowing inflammation to pass from your gut into your liver and to flood your brain blood barrier. Infertility starts in the gut by allowing inflammation to overwhelm your system and affect your HPA, destroying its ability to make the releasing hormone that releases sex hormones. Obesity is caused by inflammation getting through the gut, simpifying the gut flora, and invading the blood brain barrier to destroy the HPA and hypocretin neurons, which is equivalent to driving on the Long Island Expressway with mud on your windshield, no wipers, no windshield wiper fluids and your car only goes 20 mph. Your body is essentially in-operational, unable to keep up with the demands of a taxing environment; needless to say, this is very dangerous. Everyone thinks that things like bacteria, candida and carbohydrates are what screws your gut […]Continue Reading
Many of you know I believe obesity if an inflammatory disease of the brain. Where this disease begins may surprise some of you. It begins in our gut flora. How does this happen? Read this link! Sub optimal bacteria which contain bacterial toxins called lipopolysaccharides (LPS) which are found in bacterial cell membranes. As gut LPS rises, it has been shown to cause a rise in serum leptin levels. Once leptin levels are raised high enough it stimulates SOCS 3 signaling in the hypothalamus to cause LR.Continue Reading
Geeks: The implications of Brain Gut 4 mean that to develop a brain seafood is required part of the program to maintain it. Nutrients and many other environmental factors have also been found to influence epigenetic programing of our DNA either directly or indirectly via metabolic sensors. Peroxisomal proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR’s), the vitamin D receptors, and the retinoid X receptors (RXR), and the retinoic acid receptors (RAR) are all examples of the nuclear receptors that interact with the brain cell membranes to control inflammation and metabolism all over our bodies. It turns out that PPAR’s are the receptors that are at the crossroads of where inflammation and metabolism actually cross. These are specialized lipid sensors that pay attention to our balance of omega 6 and 3 levels. 3% of the human genome is directly or indirectly controlled by the endocrine functions of the Vitamin D system. This shows you how environmental signals are intertwined into the expression of DNA in humans. The Epi-Paleo Rx controls inflammation at a hormonal level in the brain better than the more famous paleo diet.
Non Geeks: What we eat is really damn important when you have 3 lbs of lipid in your head called a brain. If you eat outside our design you get sick.Continue Reading

In the famous equation E=mc2 we all know that the speed of light is the most important variable in the power of the equation. This has become the logical syntax of science the last 100 years. This is why a nuclear weapon has the energy it does from two small blocks of metals that get exploded into us. The equation is now being challenged by new wave scientists. In fact, one of them spoke at the TEDx Nashville event I participated in and I found his talk fascination on many levels. I love people who challenge scientific dogma. Today, we are going to go back to the top ten Paleo supplement blog and begin to talk in depth about why protein and B Vitamins are critical components to a paleo template. This is covered in levee 14 and 24 of the QUILT. One of the facets of this lifestyle is becoming active again. To become active and remain active requires a person to have optimal functioning cartilage, tendons, and muscle. As most of you know, I make a living operating on these structures, so I think have a pretty good understanding of how to make them optimal both before and after I have to treat them. In the first two blogs (1) (2) in this series we looked at the fundamental neurobiology of how excitatory neurotransmitters and exogenous food additives can cause human disease. We discussed that the mechanism of disease progression is affected by age, species, and the energy status of the neuron at the time of exposure or injury. Today we are going to explore how acute neurologic aspects of cranial trauma relates to progression to long term neurodegenerative disease. We also must remember that these athletes, soldiers, and high school students are simultaneously ingesting huge amounts of MSG and aspartate in a standard American diet. I would hope that every person reading this would avoid exogenous sources of excitotoxins going forward. This is especially true if you have sustained a traumatic brain injury or a concussion in your lifetime. […]Continue Reading
Continuing on in the Central leptin series we will resume in Orlando, Florida. In Orlando, Dr. Myers, went on to say, “In addition to examining the molecular details and importance of specific LRb signals, we are dissecting the regulation and function of individual populations of LRb-expressing neurons and examining the role of leptin in the development of neural circuits. By understanding the totality of leptin action in this way we hope to decipher the mechanisms by which leptin regulates the predisposition to diabetes and other aspects of the metabolic syndrome.” This statement carries huge implications. He has found that not only is leptin neurons somatotopically organized in the brain, but the leptin receptor also appears to be somatotopically organized into certain regions that wire and select certain neurons in the brain that modulate all parts of the obesity physiologic response. It also appears that this organization is different in men and women at the parvo-cellular nucleus in the hypothalamus. Certain parts of the receptor control total body glycemic control, others body weight and size, and others power the para-mammillary neurons to directly control fecundity, placental growth and oocyte maturation. The receptor even codes for gender differences! Men and women really are from Mars and Venus when it comes to obesity and fat deposition, and this explains why the endocrine response is different in men and women. We have known men and women have different leptin levels as adults but did not know how or why this happens. Now we do. We now are beginning to understand why it is the case as well. It helps explain why we see can see PCOS and stubborn weight gain together and why fat is distributed differently in both sexes.Continue Reading

Today we are going to explore the biochemistry of why this is the case. We talked about a possible quantum effect but today we will deal with some biochemical reasons. We also have seen that the ketogenic diet also allows neurons to uncouple cerebral blood flow from cerebral metabolic rates of oxygen consumption. This affords a huge metabolic advantage for disease neurons. All diseased neurons tend to exhibit huge increased “leakiness” from the first cytochrome in their mitochondria. If you remember from my series on mitochondria, leakiness of this electron transport […]Continue Reading
