<p>There is so much buzz now in modern healthcare and on the internet about Vitamin D but does anyone really know how it is integrated into our physiology?  Most people understand that Vitamin D is tied into our bone&#8217;s metabolism and our immune system&#8217;s function but there is a lot more to this story.  Vitamin D and its receptor, along with Vitamin A and its RXR receptor are among the oldest chemical life has used to exist in evolutionary biology.  This alone tells you how important Vitamin D is for function.  Vitamin D is directly modulated by photoelectric effect, which is a foundational law of nature and quantum mechanics.  The skin and brain are both derived from neuroectoderm in all animals.  In <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-2-einstein-meet-leptin/" target="_blank">EMF 2</a>, we saw how obesity might be related to an inflammatory condition found in the brain due to a lack of electrons and photons.  Today we are going to examine how Vitamin D works in a quantized fashion.</p>
<p>Many physicians have confided in me that just do not believe that Vitamin D levels are that big of a deal for most patients.  When they say that to me, I return a smile.  It is not that big a deal for the doctor, but it is a huge clue about what is going on with the patient.  For me, it is one of the most critical lab &#8216;thermostat values&#8217; that tell me about the &#8220;preload of their semiconductors&#8221; in their skin and body.  Yes, it is a quantum signal, to me as a physician.  If you remember from the video&#8217;s made at Paleo Fx 2011 and our  Optimal reset challenge, that I said we can do a quick &#8220;biohack&#8221; using three labs and tell a lot about the person&#8217;s current conditions of existence and where they need to go.  Those three labs were the HS-CRP, DHEA, and Vitamin D.  So far we covered DHEA in detail in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/hormone-cpc-1-dhea/" target="_blank">CPC blog of 6/30/2012</a> and in the back half of <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-7-quantum-prometheus/" target="_blank">EMF 7</a>.  We have covered HS CRP in multiple places.  Inflammation is the major signal that all biologic processes and respond to.  It is what the hormone panel responds to and it dictates the thermostat for mitochondrial efficiency, signaling, and control of the cell cycle.  The inflammatory signal also sets the tone for &#8220;tight&#8221; circadian control via the adenosine signal.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>TIME TO TALK EINSTEIN:</strong></span></p>
<p>Einstein started this party off in 1905 when his original paper was written about the duality of light.  Many other brilliant scientists were stunned by his insight, and from this stunned position, these people helped us realize if you look very closely at life, how incredibly odd it can be at times.  This is why quantum physics scares off most biologists and chemists.  Elements in space and on Earth have the exact same fingerprints.  It is where the macrocosm meets the microcosm.  This concept in biology has been largely ignored for 120 years because up until the last 15 years, most biologists believed that QED was only the domain of subatomic particles.  In this current series, I am slowly showing you that this belief is really behind why medicine is lagging far behind and why patients are really not making the strides they want or their doctors want.  This paradox is at the crux of why doctors still question the importance of Vitamin D in some diseases.  They know today,  there is a Vitamin D pandemic&#8230;&#8230;..but they do not know why and they also do not understand what it means and how to use it to their advantage.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/the-sunshine-of-your-life/" target="_blank">Dermatologists tell patients to avoid the sun in today&#8217;s world</a> as a part of evidence based medicine.  Sadly, most humans heed that warning because  they do not understand the photoelectric effect on biology.  On its surface,  many modern humans think that make sense because they associate sunlight with skin cancer.  However, here is the rub for these beliefs:  Life could not exist or evolve without light.  Every scientist knows this, and you should too, so why does current evidence differ?  We have been examining the reason for this for the last 18 months on the blog.  The reasons are vast.   When you understand some of them, then you should immediately question,  why is the sun bad for us then today?  Your instinct would be correct to question this.</p>
<p>Moreover, these paradoxes in evolutionary biology should get dermatologists and scientists asking a different questions about the sun then they are today.  Why is it that in our modern world sunlight seems to be detrimental to our health?  Is it really they sunlight or is it some other factor in us of the environment that we are overlooking?  Natural elements in the environment are really fingerprints in this mystery.  Light is part of the electo-magnetic spectrum of energies and is natures element.  Energy from the sun comes in indivisible chunks, light is  both a particle and a wave, and some things can be in two places at once.  These are facts that Einstein&#8217;s photoelectric effect gave us in his original paper from 1905.  In 1921, he was awarded the Nobel prize for discovering the photoelectric effect.  These facts are not being accounted for by modern medicine and this is why Vitamin D confuses us today.  Let us explore this.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>HISTORY LESSON:</strong></span></p>
<p>At the beginning of the 20th century physics was a mess.  The speed of light was a real problem, but the biggest problem was the theory of matter.  This is where the concept of the atom comes in.  Chemists showed great experimental evidence to suggest the presents of atoms.  At most temperatures found on earth, Newton&#8217;s laws could be applied to large numbers of atoms and molecules to predict the behavior of matter.  The real problem came in the mid to late 19th century when many experiments done by physicists showed that when Newton&#8217;s laws and his theory of matter were combined the results were not confirmed.  For example, his work would predict that if you sat on your metal bench outside when it was really cold temperature (think absolute zero), its specific heat capacity would be so low that it would warm up instantly when someone sat upon.  This is not what is observed and seems absurd when you think about it.  This is why Newton&#8217;s law had some issues.</p>
<p>The physicist in the 19th century who was his biggest critic was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Mach" target="_blank">Ernst Mach</a>.  Mach was correct to question Newton,  but his own ideas about the solution were even worse then Newton&#8217;s ideas.  But the fact that he questioned their dogma,  opened the door to people like Einstein, who had brilliant ideas.  Mach&#8217;s clever arguments, experiments, and fancy philosophy were no match for the physics of Einstein.  Quantum physics not only laid out the epistemologic foundation for the atom, but it described in detail how atoms really work in nature.  Some of Einstein&#8217;s idea went far beyond just how atoms work.  They described qualities of how matter interacts with the electro-magnetic radiation, that no one even thought about before.  Some of his insights <strong>were so odd</strong> that the scientists of his day could not even wrap their head around them and actually made fun of him for close to decade.  This actually kept his ideas from being accepted.  He came up with these theories in 1905, but had to wait 16 years to get his Nobel Prize.  More irony, he won only one award.  He never won for the Theory or relativity or for his mass equivalence equation, E=MC2.  Science is loaded with dogma because they demand rigorous experimental study, like we do today in a RCT.  Einstein was describing fundamental laws of nature.  They are not subject to correlation or causation because they are universal.  It seems some modern scientists and medicine have forgot this lesson.</p>
<p>Today this same situation is going on in medicine today, in my opinion.  We do not understand how the basic qualities of matter interact in a cell,  and are actually used by biology.  For example, In July of 2012 we just found the Higgs Boson which is the fundamental subatomic particle in physics that determines mass.  If we can not fundamentally know how mass is defined how can we say we know a lot about things derived from mass, like density, weight, or energy equivalence in the form of a calorie.  It is really a fundamental question.  In my opinion, what Einstein solved in the early 20th century for physics, quantum biology,  will eventually do for medicine in the 21st century because of what<a href="http://home.web.cern.ch/about/physics/search-higgs-boson" target="_blank"> we are learning in CERN now</a>.</p>
<p>Einstein admitted in his writings that some of his theories he could not even fathom as a realist.  The &#8216;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncertainty_principle" target="_blank">uncertainty principle</a>&#8216; being one of the better examples.  He did, however, believe there had to be a single theory that could prove the existence of atoms and accurately predict how groups of them would behave together.  With his imagination as his canvas, he created the foundation of quantum mechanics.  His first paper in 1905 was called , &#8220;<a href="http://www.unipune.ac.in/snc/centre_for_philosophy_and_history_of_science/phsc_webfiles/pdfs/2nd_paper.pdf" target="_blank"><strong>On a Heuristic Viewpoint Concerning the Production and Transformation of Light</strong></a>&#8220;.  The title told us that even Einstein was not sure his reasoning was correct.  He was not afraid to take a chance to fail because he trusted his instinct.  Thank God he overcame his own insecurity as a clerk in Austria,  to take mankind to a new understanding.  This one paper was revolutionary because he proposed for the first time that light can be two different contradictory things that exist simultaneously in nature.  He was right, and even today,  nothing he has predicted has been found to incorrect.    Einstein was forced to wait from 1905 until 1922 to get his Nobel Prize.  The reason why ?  No one could fathom he was right.  One scientist tried for ten years to prove the photoelectric effect was wrong.  His name was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Andrews_Millikan" target="_blank">Robert Millikan</a>.  He won a Noble Prize for his work in 1923, two years after Einstein&#8217;s Nobel, proving that in physics you can win even a prize even when you are dead wrong.  There is a lesson here for modern medicine and science.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>ULTIMATE TRUTH BOMB:</strong> </span>  When you uncover the foundational principles of nature, you are not subject to correlation or causation.  Today, modern medicine is basing everything it believes on the standard built into the randomized controlled clinical trial. My blog is suggesting that maybe they are looking at the world wrong and we need to look at our modern medical problems the way Einstein did.   They believe a RCT is the foundation of the biological sciences to get our best answers.  I no longer do.  I think when we use quantum physics to heal people we are superceding any insights we get from a RCT.  In fact, we need to feel secure that if we follow the laws of nature to obtain our goals,  the results will not be subject to correlation without causation.  This is precisely what Einstein did for physics in 1905 without realizing it.  Millikan actually proved that as well over a decade.  It seems that modern scientists and physicians do not realize that.  Why should we settle for a RCT when evolution uses the laws of nature and matter as her template?  This is why I reject placing any faith in any RCT done today and choose to see things through nature&#8217;s eyes first, before I examine what any RCT says.  This is why the <a href="http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2010/11/lies-damned-lies-and-medical-science/308269/" target="_blank">study in the Atlantic</a> I have mentioned many times on this blog got me thinking about Einstein, and what he did for physics and mankind.  Click on the link and make sure you read it.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>THE BIOLOGY OF LIGHT:</strong></span></p>
<p>So how do I propose solving this mystery?  Using real world experiments and the laws of nature that Einstein uncovered and showing you how Vitamin D use them as well. I have told you the leptin receptor is the accountant in the brain that measures photons and electrons.  The skin and brain both come from the same material in an embryo.  This tissue is called <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroectoderm" target="_blank">neuroectoderm</a>.  This shows you another quantum principle at play.  At one time in all life the skin and brain were connected.  Here is another twist I bet you did not know.  In the embryo, <strong>n</strong><b>euroectoderm</b>  receives a signal from  <a title="Bone Morphogenetic Protein" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bone_Morphogenetic_Protein">Bone Morphogenetic Protein</a>.  This is an inhibiting signals from a  protein called <a title="Noggin (protein)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noggin_(protein)">noggin</a>.  Noggin leads to the development of the <a title="Nervous system" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nervous_system">nervous system</a> from this tissue.  Here we see bone tissue directs brain formation.  We already established in EMF 7 that bone is quantum.  Now we see bone helps form the brain too.  This implies the brain is also quantum.  I think I established that in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-5-paradigm-drifts-paradigm-shifts-epi-paleo/" target="_blank">Brain gut 5</a> too.  Everything is connected in a quantum system.  The key is realizing the system is quantized to begin with.  Are their more connections you should be aware of with the skin?  Yes.  The integumentary system covers the surface of the embryo and its specialized skin structures including hair, nails, sweat glands, mammary glands and teeth. As a system it has contributions from all embryonic layers.  This means that every system at some level is tied to Vitamin D in some way,  and it is why Vitamin D is important to understand.</p>
<p>In our adult form, the skin and our brain are no longer are &#8216;physically&#8217; connected.  What binds their function together physiologically?  Vitamin D is the short answer.  How?  It does so by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_at_a_distance_(physics)" target="_blank">action at a spooky distance</a>.  It is called the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_nonlocality" target="_blank">principle of non locality</a>. Who came up with this?  Einstein.  Where did he get the idea?  He got it from the laws of nature based in the photoelectric effect.  This is how nature works at its fundamental levels.  It is where the macrocosm of space meets the nanoscopic precision of the microcosm of a cell.  Today, &#8216;modern organic chemists&#8217; will tell you they do not believe in action at a spooky distance applies to organic chemistry.  Go back and <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/do-food-electrons-impart-a-quantum-effect/" target="_blank">read this post carefully again and look at what I asked that day.  </a>It does.  There beliefs are another reason why medicine might still be in the dark over these issues.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>ULTIMATE TRUTH BOMB:</strong> </span> Just so I am being painstakingly clear here:  Any physical theory that supersedes or replaces quantum theory must make similar experimental predictions and must therefore also be non-local in this sense;  <strong>quantum nonlocality is a property of the universe that is independent of our description of nature.  </strong></p>

<p>What <strong>you</strong> need to understand about this,  is if this is light is a foundational element of nature (and it is), then it means biology had to build a biochemical system around each of the elements found in nature to its advantage in order to control the randomness of quantum effects to make life possible.  Vitamin D is part of that system that evolutionary biology constructed to do this.  The first biologic use of light is found in photosynthesis.  As I showed in the EMF series plant life used photosynthesis 3-3.5 billion years ago. In EMF 7,  I told you nothing found to date in any branch of science is more energy efficient on the planet compared to photosynthesis.</p>
<p>Photosynthesis uses the quantum science of water energy to its huge advantage.  When light and water interact in a plants pigments or in our <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/quantum-biology-1-the-zero-entropy-system/" target="_blank">carbon nanotubes in our skin </a>some amazing things happen.  It is so complex and amazing but it explains how we transfer energy from the light in our atmosphere that is carried on water vapors in clouds.  The phase change of gaseous water to rain is called a phase transition of water.  When we move from a gas to liquid rain huge amounts of energy have to be added to the water vapor to change it to liquid rain.  When that liquid is heavy enough in a cloud it falls to Earth via gravity.  What controls this process?  Sunlight, and the water&#8217;s molecular chemistry it finds its current phases in using the science of dielectric chemistry.  When this phase transition occurs liquid water becomes rain, which then releases its energy to grass and plants.  This transfer fuels photosynthesis which turns atmospheric CO2 into O2 for animals to use at 100% efficiency.  This is why Oxygen exploded suddenly on the scene  of life 542 million years ago and life exploded.  This was known as the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambrian_explosion" target="_blank">Cambrian explosion.</a></p>
<p>When life harnessed the power of the sun via Vitamin D life exploded.  Over the following 70 or 80 million years, the rate of <a title="Evolution" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution">evolution</a> accelerated by an <a title="Order of magnitude" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_magnitude">order of magnitude</a> (as defined in terms of the extinction and origination rate of species) and the diversity of life began to resemble that of today.  All present phyla appeared within the first 20 million years of this period.  Plants too full advantage of this.  They exploded on the scene of life back then.</p>
<p>The photoelectric effect has been extensively studied in plants.  It has been found to be massively energy efficient.  The rate of energy capture by the photoelectric effect in plants is immense.  It is approximately 100 trillion watts  (1 trillion watts = 1 terawatt).  This is ten times the current the current power consumption of the human species today.  It is clear the photoelectric effect was very powerful for plant life that they could evolve just using water and light to make nutrients.  Animals are not connected into the ground 100% of the time, nor do they have their semiconductors (canopy of leaves) in the sunlight 24/7.  So animal life had to come up with a new way to use the photoelectric effect to power life.  It did.  It used Vitamin D in our skins semiconductors to transfer the sun&#8217;s power to us.</p>
<p>It turns our photosynthesis also gives animal life a boost too via its use of Vitamin D because it is more energy efficient when it combines with the action of  water in our carbon nanotubes in shear production of energy.</p>
<p>So it appears animal life used some of the foundational &#8216;quantum pieces&#8217; built into photosynthesis in animals.  The details on photosynthesis shows that photo-chemicals acts as semiconductors in plants.  So does collagen and water in animals.  This is why a human can live 30 days without food but only 7 days without water.  This is why plants need water to grow.   Water is one of the critical elements to life.  What are the others according to scientists today in NASA?  Light and magnetism.  This is why Mars is a dead planet and Earth is not.  Mars lacks a magnetic field and had its atmosphere stripped by the solar winds because of this lack of protection.  Animals began to construct energy systems via fractal design over eons and connected multiple different biologic systems to make sense of the quirkiness of light and matter to make life work.  This is why the VDR is found in every human tissue ever sampled.  We know that Vitamin D and its receptor was designed to make perfect use the natural physical and electomagnetic elements of light found on Earth around 600-700 million years ago.  How it does it,  is now modern medicine&#8217;s mystery.  I like to solve mysteries.  So how do I think about it?  Let us examine the simple physics problem and use it as an analogy to explain quantum biology.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>SHING LIGHT ON THE MYSTERY:</strong></span></p>

<p>Einstein says, if you shine light and ultraviolet light on a piece of metal, the light can knock electrons out of the metal.  In a lab this data is easily collected and proven.  Back in the early 20th century, the photoelectric effect made science uncomfortable just like the story of Vitamin D is today.  The wave theory of light suggested as you turned up the brightness of the light, you should eject more electrons, because brighter light has more energy in it.  Why they had trouble with Einstein&#8217;s ideas was because in their experiments this did not happen.  If you shine light onto a piece of an element, no electrons were ejected, no matter how bright the light was made.  But when you changed the light to violet, you could turn it down low and still electrons will be ejected.  Einstein&#8217;s genius was that he took the experimental data they created and made sense of it without getting caught in dogma.  He realized that if light was made up of small particles called photons, the photoelectric effect was easy to explain.  <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Planck" target="_blank">Max Plank</a> had shown in years prior to Einstein&#8217;s ideas,  that it was the <strong>frequency of light</strong>, and not the intensity of the light that determines its energy.</p>

<p><strong>The brain also pays attention to the frequency of light in our pineal gland;  it is a funny coincidence, huh?</strong></p>

<p>Einstein&#8217;s original paper in 1905 suggested that low energy red photons do not have enough energy to knock out any of the electrons out of the potassium and that was the reason the experiments appeared to fail.  He also pointed out that a single ultraviolet photon had enough energy to knock the electron out.  Why is this foundational principle important for Vitamin D?</p>
<p>Modern medicine is focused on sunlight being bad for us today&#8230;&#8230;..If you are following the Einstein analogy, <strong>what if it is not the sun that is bad?</strong>   What if it is the semiconductors that the sun acts upon that is bad.  If that were true and you did not know about these semi conductors, it would appear that the sun was really bad for us.  And that is precisely where modern medicine is today in my humble opinion.  Do I have support for this belief?  Yes, this is precisely how <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niels_Bohr" target="_blank">Neils Bohr</a> figured out the mystery of the atom.  He brainstormed to use Einstein and Plank&#8217;s ideas and mix then with <a href="http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/quantumzone/balmer.html" target="_blank">Balmer&#8217;s equation</a> that described the emission spectrum of hydrogen that was found in 1885.  His idea was that electrons can only sit at certain fixed quantum distances from the nucleus.  When they become more energized they can move further from the nucleus and if they really become energized they can be expelled in the form of electromagnetic radiation.  He essentially realized that the substance of matter really matters at a particle basis.  Since this is a foundational principle in nature it stands to reason that biology&#8217;s uses the same principle.</p>
<p>It means that if the semiconductors are altered in terms of their ability to hold or transduce energy it will have a direct impact on the effect of light on them.  This may sound counter intuitive to you at first, but it completely explains why we see a pandemic in Vitamin D now.</p>
<p>All eukaryotic life uses Vitamin D at some level in combination with collagen, Vitamin A, K, E, and the RXR receptors and VDR.The vitamin D receptor plays an important role in regulating the hair cycle. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcitriol_receptor" target="_blank">Loss of VDR</a> is associated with hair loss in experimental animals and may help explain why humans lost their body hair as they evolved close to the equator in the East African rift zone.  They likely needed the extra power of the sun to help power the epigenetic changes to transform us from our ancestors because of the heavy energy costs our brain puts on the mammalian body plan.</p>
<p>In humans it is well established that we use it to help form strong bones and to increase our immune systems.  When Vitamin D levels are low,  it means only two things.  It means the frequencies of sunlight might have changed from the sun,  or the detection system for the spectrum of light is somehow altered in us.  Since the frequency of the sun has been a constant on this planet for 4.5 billion years we are left with the solution. <strong>When you <em>have</em> eliminated the impossible, whatever is left becomes your new reality</strong>.</p>
<p>When I realized that bone was quantized, as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_O._Becker" target="_blank">Dr. Becker proved beyond a shadow of a doubt</a>,  and I really looked at what Einstein,Plank, and Bohr&#8217;s work implied for biology,  I knew why we had a Vitamin D pandemic today.  It also explained why Vitamin D and bone metabolism is tied at the evolutionary hip.   <strong>Becker&#8217;s</strong> <strong> experiments also showed that collagen matrix of bone acted as the N-type of semi-conductor of bone while apatite crystals were the P-type semiconductor</strong>.  We know that vitamin D plays a massive role in controlling bone metabolism.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>HOW DO HUMANS MAKE VITAMIN D FROM THE SUN?</strong> </span></p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NON GEEKS:</strong></span> 7-Dehydrocholesterol is the semiconductor in skin that takes the EMF signal of light and changes it to a chemical signal that the brain samples to control circadian timing.  It uses water as well.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>GEEKS:</strong></span> We humans use a specific frequency of the visible light spectrum to do it.  It is called the high energy UV B band of light to do it.  This is precisely what Einstein pointed out in the analogy I used above.  Coincidence?</p>
<p>The back bone of Vitamin D is cholesterol made by every cell in the bofy that is converts to 7-Dehydrocholesterol in the skin.  The skin consists of two primary layers: the inner layer called the <a title="Dermis" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermis">dermis</a>, composed largely of <a title="Connective tissue" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connective_tissue">connective tissue</a>, and the outer thinner <a title="Epidermis (skin)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidermis_(skin)">epidermis</a>. The thickness of the epidermis ranges from 0.08mm to more than 0.6mm (0.003 to 0.024 inches). The epidermis consists of five <i>strata</i>; from outer to inner they are: the <a title="Stratum corneum" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratum_corneum">stratum corneum</a>, <a title="Stratum lucidum" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratum_lucidum">stratum lucidum</a>, <a title="Stratum granulosum" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratum_granulosum">stratum granulosum</a>, <a title="Stratum spinosum" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratum_spinosum">stratum spinosum</a>, and <a title="Stratum basale" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratum_basale">stratum basale</a>. The highest concentrations of 7-dehydrocholesterol are found in the epidermal layer of skin, specifically in the stratum basale and stratum spinosum.  The production of pre-vitamin D<sub>3</sub> is therefore greatest in these two layers, whereas production in the other layers is reduced.</p>
<p>Synthesis of pre-vitamin D<sub>3</sub> in the skin involves <a title="UVB radiation" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UVB_radiation">UVB radiation</a> which effectively penetrates only the epidermal layers of skin. 7-Dehydrocholesterol absorbs UV light most effectively at <a title="Wavelength" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavelength">wavelengths</a> between <strong>290-320<a title="Nanometer" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanometer">nm</a></strong> and thus the production of vitamin D<sub>3</sub> will only occur at those wavelengths. The two most important factors that govern the generation of pre-vitamin D<sub>3</sub> are the quantity (intensity) and quality (appropriate wavelength) of the UVB irradiation reaching the 7-dehydrocholesterol deep in the stratum basale and stratum spinosum.  Another important consideration is the quantity of 7-dehydrocholesterol present in the skin. Under normal circumstances, ample quantities of 7-dehydrocholesterol (about 25–50 <a title="Milligram" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milligram">mg</a>/cm<sup>2</sup> of skin) are available in the stratum spinosum and stratum basale of human skin to meet the body&#8217;s vitamin D requirements.  Many drugs slow the formation of 7-Dehydrocholesterol.  Statins are the best example.</p>
<p><a title="7-Dehydrocholesterol" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7-Dehydrocholesterol">7-Dehydrocholesterol</a> is the precursor of vitamin D<sub>3</sub>. Within the epidermal layer of skin, 7-Dehydrocholesterol undergoes an <a title="Electrocyclic reaction" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrocyclic_reaction">electrocyclic reaction</a> as a result of UVB radiation, resulting in the opening of the vitamin precursor B-ring through a <a title="Conrotatory and disrotatory" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrotatory_and_disrotatory">conrotatory</a> pathway.  Therefore, Cholecalciferol is synthesized in the skin from 7-dehydrocholesterol under the action of ultraviolet B light. Following this, the previtamin D<sub>3</sub> undergoes a [1,7] antarafacial <a title="Sigmatropic reaction" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigmatropic_reaction">sigmatropic</a> rearrangement and therein finally isomerizes to form vitamin D<sub>3</sub>.  It reaches an equilibrium in the skin after several minutes depending on several factors including conditions of sunlight (latitude, season, cloud cover, altitude), age of skin, and color of skin.</p>
<p>Cholecalciferol is then <a title="Hydroxylated" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroxylated">hydroxylated</a> in the <a title="Liver" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver">liver</a> to become <a title="Calcifediol" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcifediol">calcifediol</a> (25-hydroxyvitamin D<sub>3</sub>).</p>
<p>Next, calcifediol is again hydroxylated, this time in the <a title="Kidney" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney">kidney</a>, and becomes <a title="Calcitriol" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcitriol">calcitriol</a> (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D<sub>3</sub>). Calcitriol is the most active hormone form of vitamin D<sub>3</sub>.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NON GEEKS:</strong></span>  So why is Vitamin D low in everyone these days?  It is because the positive and negative semiconductors of the human body have become altered , globally for some reason.  Moreover, the magnetic field our semiconductors are found in today have also been altered.  The reasons for the alterations are not the same everywhere on the planet, but it is the ultimate answer.  Moreover, some of us, like those in the western world have multiple reasons that our semiconductors are altered.  I have mentioned several in the last ten blogs or so.  EMF, trans fats, man made foodstuffs like soybean, canola, and vegetable oils, and fluoride in the water are just some I have shared with you so far.  There are many more.  I explained in the EMF series that these substances acts as dielectric blockers in biologic semiconductors.  Dielectric blockers cause <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalanche_breakdown" target="_blank">avalanche collapse </a>of energy transduction.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>WHAT IS AVALANCHE COLLAPSE?</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>GEEKS:</strong>  At breakdown, the electric field frees bound electrons and photons. If the applied electric field is sufficiently high, free electrons from <a title="Background radiation" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Background_radiation">background radiation</a> may become accelerated to velocities that can liberate additional electrons during collisions with neutral atoms or molecules in a process called <a title="Avalanche breakdown" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalanche_breakdown">avalanche breakdown</a> of superconduction. Breakdown occurs quite abruptly, typically in <a title="Nanoseconds" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanoseconds">nanoseconds</a>, resulting in the formation of an electrically conductive path and a <a title="Disruptive discharge" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disruptive_discharge">disruptive discharge</a> through the material. For solid materials, like a liquid crystalline lattice of water in a nanotube,  a breakdown event severely degrades proton and electron currents, or even destroys, its insulating capability.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NON GEEKS:</strong></span>  When we understand this, we are back to Einstein&#8217;s math of the energy mass equivalence equation of E=MC2.  This also explains why no one really knows today what is the optimal Vitamin D level in humans today. There is no group world wide who has normal semiconductors,  so we have no control group in which to study this properly.  We have to rely on data collected on humans pre- 1920 to really have an idea of what might be optimal.  I have and this is why I like the range of 70-120 ng/ml.  Studies done of people of today will never be accurate to assess a good Vitamin D levels for optimal health and will only act to fool physicians and patients.</p>
<p>Collagen is the the number one protein in the body by shear weight.  It makes up the protein sheaths and fascia that all carbon nanotubes are connected to.  These tubes are all designed to be filled with water.  Collagen is what the negative semiconductor in most tissues, like bone mentioned above.  I believe there are some tissues it can be the positive semiconductor.  When the dielectric blockers are added to collagen matrix for any reason,  they can not make or transduce energy from sunlight or any other quantum effect (electrons, photons, and phonons)  and the end result that we assay when we look is we see an alteration of our Vitamin D, DHEA, and HS CRP levels.  You might be seeing why Vitamin D levels are low in obesity and in metabolic syndrome now.  These two disease are the base of the sickness pyramid modern man faces today.  Quantum biology predicts that both diseases are underpinned by bad semiconductors that can not hold their charge for some reason.  They are both diseases are disease were we have lost electrons, photons, or phonons to the environment from our semiconductors,  as I laid out in the EMF series and the recent May Webinar of 2013.</p>
<p>This also explains why the paleo template helps improve your health to some degree.  It also helps explain why so many on the template do not get totally better to reverse their diseases.  It is akin to the physics experiment I mentioned to you above.  There is more to the story, because there has to be a way a reverse every disease since humans are not designed by nature to be filled with disease.  We need to approach our reasoning of modern diseases differently if we are going to solve today&#8217;s conditions of existence.  The paleo blueprint improves the collagen semiconductor best because it increases the amount of protein to make collagen while cutting dielectric blockers,   that collagen uses in quantum semiconduction biology.  But often times it does not go far enough for those of us, whose diseases are tied to other semiconductors that are used in the brain, which are made from DHA and water and not collagen.  Osteoporosis, obesity, autism,  depression, AD, PCOS,  and metabolic syndrome are some of these examples, but there are many others.  I will be writing about them as time goes on.</p>
<p>This is where the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Epi-paleo-Rx-Prescription-Reversal-ebook/dp/B00BIUAZUQ" target="_blank">Epi-paleo Rx</a> steps up the game to include all the semiconductors we have uncovered to date.  I fully expect more to be found when people begin to look for them, and the more we find,  the more we will understand why ancient cultures did what they did.  I believe they used the power of time and empiric testing to instinctively know how to best utilize the photoelectric effect to stay well.  The ancestral human diet formed around the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-3-look-in-the-past-to-see-your-prologue/" target="_blank">East African rift zone</a> and the conditions of existence that existed at our origin.   This <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Epi-paleo-Rx-Prescription-Reversal-ebook/dp/B00BIUAZUQ" target="_blank">Epi-paleo Rx</a> seems to help the collagen semi conductor in the body and brain, while maximizing the other semiconductors such as water, to improve its ability to transmit energy using the coherence of water.  When these are maximized,  we magically see Vitamin D levels rise without supplementation, DHEA levels rise, and HS CRP levels fall.  This also helps explain to physicians why some of their patients who they supplement large doses of vitamin D 3,  never seem to make a dent in their levels when they measure their serum after some time with aggressive supplementation.  I have my patients consider adding 100 micrograms of Vitamin K2 with every 1000 IU increase of Vitamin D3 we add while we simultaneously are improving their semiconductors using the Epi-paleo Rx.  This can help repair the semiconductors quicker when the Epi-Paleo Rx is used simultaneously to improve the other factors important to quantum biology.  When we do it this way we begin to see changes and permanence of the Vitamin D level 12-18 months in. The duration of change is directly proportional to the quality of the semi conductor&#8217;s ability to transduce energy due to the current disease status.  The sicker you are the longer it will take.  This also is based in Einstein&#8217;s math built into the photoelectric effect of light.  To gain the benefit of sunlight&#8217;s frequency  of the wavelength, we need the ability to absorb it.  If our semiconductors are run down for anyreason,  the power of the sun can alter cellular signaling to cause disease.  This does not mean we should avoid the sun, it means we need to improve our conditions of existence,  to improve our bodies semiconductors&#8217; ability to transmit the frequency of the spectrum of light, to power our cells.  Our body is designed to take the sun&#8217;s natural electro-magnetic radiation, called visible light, and its intrinsic energy package, the photon, and turn it from an EMF message to  a chemical message in our cells to signal and power life.</p>
<p>When the semiconductors of the body are degraded for any reason, vitamin D levels will always be low.  The reason it is low is not because the sun&#8217;s light energy has recently changed.  <strong>It is because our semiconductors have been degraded by our epigenetic choices or how we live our modern life.</strong>  Today&#8217;s low level of Vitamin D tells you something deeply about the recommendations &#8220;experts&#8221; have made for us when you realize the sun&#8217;s light has not changed.  It means their recommendations of how we should live have changed our semiconductors.  It also means their beliefs have dramatically altered the choices <strong>we have</strong> allowed to occur for us and our families.   These beliefs have created environmental mismatches which have acted to subjugate the rules of nature for a healthy life.</p>

<p>We are the experts of us, and we need to realize this.  We need to allow the laws of nature dictate our health outcomes.  This is where the science of quantum mechanics should marry to modern healthcare.  We need to move away from the experts ideas and move back toward how Einstein says the elements of life should work at a foundational level.  We need to allow nature&#8217;s design dictate our choices and not a randomized controlled clinical trial.  There is a deep lesson to learn buried in Einstein&#8217;s genius for all life.  It is time we all pay attention it to make the difference we are looking for in medicine.</p>

<p>Today we are going to talk about the one thing that really separates humans from all other mammals. We began to walk upright before we developed a big brain. It was our first defining evolutionary change from chimp to human. The reasons why our legs grew first is generally credited to our big brain needing a larger birth canal and causing changes in the genitourinary system. There is one big problem with this theory; We grew legs long before we developed a large complex brain. The brain did not drive bipedalism.<br />
Many modern evolutionary biologist take upright walking for granted because they can do it easily so it appears a natural progression of evolutionary progress. Not even Darwin could explain this evolutionary jump. There has never been another change like it in the biologic record.<br />
It might seem a poor topic for some, because many people have found it easy to explain in their own mind; After all,  bipedalism did not strike the early evolutionists as a &#8220;difficult thing&#8221; to explain. When Darwin wrote &#8216;The Descent of Man&#8217; he did not even bother to list it in his index. Fact check that. It is true. He choose to completely ignored it, because he could not explain it, and just thought going from all fours to two feet was natural for us! The sequence of events seemed clear enough at that time.</p>
<p>Apart from massive changes in the pelvic skeleton and lower extremities, the muscular anatomy of the legs also had to be completely be remodeled. Walking and standing, plus the strenuous maneuver of rising to an erect posture from sitting or squatting, made heavy demands on the muscles of the legs and buttocks which consequently grew in size and strength. The mass of each leg in our species now constitutes <strong>one-sixth of the entire bodyweight</strong> when it is in proportion to overall weight. The newly developed large buttock muscle, called the gluteus maximus, needed a new point of anchorage on the pelvis and femur of the skeleton, so a special extension of the pelvic flange evolved to accommodate it rather quickly.</p>
<p>Consider this excerpt from Brain Gut 3 to refresh your memory of just what happened:</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;RADICAL IDEA NUMBER THREE:</strong> The leaky gut allowed us to sense our environment and it stimulated <strong>two simultaneous epigenetic </strong>alterations but for different reasons. The first was development of a <strong>rigid foot and ankle</strong> because climbing trees in the cold and wet of a dwindling Pilocene forest is dangerous to primate&#8217;s health. It makes climbing difficult and dangerous. Moreover with a dwindling forrest in the Pilocene, their food supply became constricted in the trees. That meant that a terrestrial diet was selected for because climbing was harder in the cold and wet conditions and their food source diminished. How do we know this is true?   Think about this analogy. Have you ever seen a quarterback try to throw a football in a torrential down pour? It is very difficult to control the wet skinned leather on a football in a cold wet environment. It also is hard for apes to climb in cold wet weather in many zoo&#8217;s in the US. This is also observed in the wild in many species as well. The apes avoid dangerous climbing in these conditions according to zoo keepers I spoke with. You are scoffing at me now with that football analogy, and I agree. But it does open your mind to the cause that might explain why our foot design was the first alterations  before we began walking upright.</p>
<p>What if I told you that the lower limb, and specifically the foot and ankle, would be the first to adapt in a chronically cold and wet environment in the primate body plan?   What if I told you that today&#8217;s Western Mountain gorillas have more human feet because they spend more time on the ground because their environment is colder wetter environments even today? Their big toe anatomy approximates a more human position than an their warmer dryer cousins in East Africa (tree dwellers) who have a mid foot that is highly flexible for quadriped walking and a great toe that is away from the rest of its foot and is opposable for grasping for climbing. This reason has never been put forth in the paleoanthropology literature as the main reason for bipedalism, as far as I know. Feet are rarely talked about within this &#8220;group of experts&#8221; because the fossil record is horrendous in quality and quantity when it comes to foot bones of transitional apes. But what we know, is that Ardi and Lucy, who were transitional apes, were upright first before they encephalized.  No one disputes this any longer. The bone collectors still have no answers for why this happened.  Neither did Mr. Darwin in his time. I think I might have stumbled into the answer. In the cold and wet environment, this means they had to have more stable ankles and knee joints to walk. Want to see some proof of this speculation? <p>I believe the reason apes became bipedal is because they lost the forests rapidly and the climate rapidly changed to a cold wet environment in the matter of a few months to years because of the plate tectonics of the region they lived in.&#8221;</p>

<p>Moreover, it was a costly biologic option for us to assimilate, and we are still &#8220;paying the installments&#8221; of that condition of existence. I make my living as a spine surgeon because this epigenetic change is still in a massive state of transition. This is the reason back pain is the number one disability in our species today. The mammalian spine evolved over a hundred million years and reached a high degree of efficiency, on the assumption that mammals are creatures with one leg at each corner of that spine, and that they walk with their spine in a horizontal plane with reference to the ground. Under those conditions, the blueprint is one that would command the admiration of any engineer. The vertebral column is designed on cantilever principles, as a single shallow arch supported by two pairs of movable pillars; the weight of the internal organs is vertically suspended from the arch and evenly distributed along the length of it. Every mammal that uses this scaffold resembles a walking bridge blueprint via fractal design. Our distant ancestors, 4-6 million years ago, suddenly departed from this time-honored mode of locomotion and converted themselves into walking towers, with a very high center of gravity and a much more narrow base than chimps.</p>
<p>Today’s human spine that I operate upon has dramatically changed. The human skeleton has undergone a major overhaul to accommodate walking on two legs. The single arch of the common mammalian spinal column has been completely abandoned in us. Ironically, the only vestige of our past is still found in infants. Human babies are still born with it, but they lose it soon after birth in favor of a perfectly straight spine. It will be straighter as an infant and early toddler than it will ever be again. As soon as they gain control over their cerebellum and cortico-spinal tracts learn to sit up, a forward curve develops near the top of the cervical spine. This lordotic curve is maintained in adults even today. In surgery, my goal is to reestablish that curve when it is lost for many biomechanical reasons.</p>
<p>Our lumbar vertebrae have grown larger in the medial and lateral dimension and in a rostral caudal dimension to be able sustain the unprecedented apical pressure our species now has to bear because of walking erect. Our lumbar discs and ligaments also expanded and had to <strong>hydrate massively</strong> to help share the loads. It happened so quickly in evolutionary time scales that the annulus around the disc today in modern humans is still only made up of a patch work of fibers that do not even form a compete web to contain the disc well. This implies that optimal hydration of the disc imperative for erect walking painlessly.</p>
<p>This was made possible by many of the hormones made in the pelvis and retroperitoneal space and water from the feet. The pelvic girdle has been moved into a different coronal plane, and the iliac blades on each side of it have spread apart and flattened into a saucer-like shape to hold the main weight of the intestines. These adaptations helped the bipedal mammal from developing a giant prolapse of their gut when it went from a horizontal plane to gravity to a vertical plane to gravity.  It also makes a lot of sense why the gut would shorten in humans, as well, compared to other primates. The smaller gut would be a great mechanical advantage to a bipedal creature who was trying to recreate their spine.  In fact, it appears embryologic gut rotation maneuvers might be directly tied in a quantum fashion to the changes in the developing spine.  How did these changes in the basic mammalian body plan begin?  We are primates that evolved around the East African Rift Zone.  Re read <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-3-look-in-the-past-to-see-your-prologue/" target="_blank">Brain Gut 3 </a>and <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-4-what-was-homos-solution/" target="_blank">4 </a>to review the details again.</p>
<p>We are designed to walk in seawater absorb it via glands in our feet and excrete the excess salt. On the way up our feet and legs,  this water is designed to become coherent in nerves, fascia, and in our lumbar discs to hydrate all the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/quantum-biology-1-the-zero-entropy-system/" target="_blank">carbon nanotubes </a>to facilitate energy transfer. This is huge in the spinal discs and annulus for a big reason. Discs and the annulus do not have any blood supply so this means they cant energy transfer like other tissues can.  It means they rely on water superconduction solely for excellent physiologic function.  It is also why back pain is the number one disability in modern humans.  Many doctors have wondered why discs do nto have a blood supply.  It&#8217;s because water is the ticket.  This is why they do not have a blood supply……….they rely 100% on coherent water for energy. Without it you get modern man. This is how I make my living. People just do not understand how our body  <em>REALLY</em> works. Modern life just blocks you from your real truths.</p>

<p>If you read Darwin’s original texts, and you should, you will see when he did mention bipedalism he used some unusual white out techniques found in grammar. For example he choose to use a double negative, when he said, ‘‘I can see no reason why it should not have been advantageous to the progenitors of man to have become more and more erect and bipedal.” Today, Darwin would have seen great reason to question this,  if he had still been alive when the fossils of Lucy and her companions came to light in the 20th century.</p>
<p>They had very small brain cases and brains, and even at sites where their bones were fairly thick on the ground, there was not the slightest trace of evidence of tool making or weapon wielding in the archaeologic record. Lucy’s discovery reversed all previous assumptions of the evolutionists about the sequence of events for hominid evolution. Every last bit of it was dead wrong,  as I laid out,  in serious detail in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-3-look-in-the-past-to-see-your-prologue/" target="_blank">Brain Gut 3</a> and <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-4-what-was-homos-solution/" target="_blank">Brain Gut 4</a>. It became clear that bipedalism did not emerge in the wake of other human-like advancements, to enable them to function better. Bipedalism came first for a reason!! I also believe after you listen to the May 2013 webinar (Sex Rx) you will begin to understand why it really happened.</p>
<p>I don’t believe it should have been as much of a surprise as it was. It was over half a century since Raymond Dart had inferred from his Taung baby’s skull that it must have belonged to a bipedal species, it was over thirty years since his claims had in general terms been accepted. It made sense to me that bipedalism would have been our first big move out of the forest because we were surrounded by water. Standing taller would have been a big early requirement when you can’t dive into water for food because you had no way to protect your airway from drowning. The airway of other primates and humans is quite different.  It allows us to speak now, but the real first changes were made to allow us to dive in water to find more DHA and iodine laden shellfish.  Being a taller chimp made a lot of common sense in this light.</p>

<p><strong>TIME TO LEARN ABOUT GLANDS:</strong></p>

<p>Apocrines glands are highly adaptable in the mammalian clade. Humans use them quite differently that most other mammals, however. For example, the milk glands of mammals are simply highly modified apocrine glands. In virtually all sweating mammals, with the exception of man, the so-called “sweat glands” are modified apocrines glands. This is not true at all in us.  We evolved a new gland.  In primate apocrine glands, The oily or waxy component has been diluted to a thin, watery emulsion, the consistency of skimmed milk by the action of progesterone and oxytocin. The glands are found all over our body in association with the hair follicles in our skin, and they respond to a rise in temperature by exuding this fluid onto the surface of the skin. They play a huge role in our sexual behavior as you will soon learn in the May 2013 webinar.</p>
<p>There is something that makes apocrines special in our species. In apocrine sweating, there is efficient control not only of the amount of fluid loss, but also the loss of salt. (called sodium chloride). These glands are tied to females olfactory receptors via quantum tunneling for a very specific reason.  (May Webinar alert)</p>
<p>Humans have adapted for this function by evolving another kind of skin gland called the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eccrine_sweat_gland" target="_blank">eccrine gland</a>. Guess where eccrine glands show up in humans? In their feet. This is why modern humans have created socks. It is because unlike any other primate, our feet sweat. Chimps and gorillas do not have sweaty feet, but we do. In fact the human disease, cystic fibrosis is diagnosed by assaying the foot sweat of infants for its sodium chloride content.<br />
Many still believe we seemed to have evolved foot eccrines originally to prevent our feet from slipping on rocks in water. In the course of primate evolution some eccrine glands began to appear scattered at random aspects over the body surface. In small species of primates they are comparatively few eccrine glands and many believe them to be ‘ectopic’ glands. This implies they are just misfits in migrations as the animal develops by simply occurring by chance in the ‘wrong’ place. In larger monkeys, there are more of them everywhere. This implies there is a fractal plan in action.  This is a big clue that eccrines and apocrines are important to longer legs and bipedalism.<br />
By the time we move from the smaller monkeys to the African apes they are as common as apocrine glands, or slightly more so, in a proportion of about 52 to 48 per cent. In humans, the eccrines have made a <strong>quantum leap</strong> from chimps, to something nearer 99 to 1 per cent. Why do you think that might be?  Humans need massive amounts of water to fuel the power needed in the DHA semiconductors of their massive brains and they had to use that power to fuel the changes in our skeleton and discs somehow quite quickly.  Water was out jet fuel to longer legs.<br />
Humans first used the eccrine glands in their feet to absorb water for water superconduction and facilitate the removal of NaCl……This is why our sweat is salty, and by removing the sea’s minerals, it acts to make homemade reverse osmosis water for free. When the water becomes relatively mineral free, the amount of low density component rises and this allows the water absorbed more likely to become coherent when the environment is resonating with the Schumann resonance. This is precisely what the environment looked like where humans came from. Please go back and re read <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-4-what-was-homos-solution/" target="_blank">Brain gut 4</a> right now. When that water became coherent in the interfascial spaces of the epineurium of the peripheral nervous system we gained the power to lengthen our legs to go further our in the water. Then our gut shrank, and our lymphatic system exploded in complexity to deal with all the new viral infections because our epigenetics had changed from forest to sea. <p>V. E. Sokolov, declared in the 1980’s that: ‘Eccrine sweating is a human characteristic as unique as speech or bipedalism.’ I think he was spot on the money with this quote. This is how quantum biology works in humans. To understand the biology of the eccrine glands of humans is to understand how we powered our first semiconductors in our small legs that became bigger ones. The eccrine glands in our feet act as a giant desalination plant. It helps us absorb water from the sea so we have a constant source of <strong>low density water</strong> in order to preload our collagen semiconductors (Positive semiconductor) body wide. This process started with our feet. Bipedalism is the change chimps got to get to us…….what was the evolutionary process? Review Brain Gut 4 carefully, then read this:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Where standing and thriving on two legs might have come from?</strong></span></p>
<p>1. Our nearest ancestor species was fertile enough that if all offspring survived to reproduce the population would grow (fact).<br />
2. Despite periodic fluctuations, populations remain roughly the same size (fact).<br />
3. Resources such as food are limited and are relatively stable over time (fact).<br />
4. A struggle for survival ensues (inference).<br />
5. Individuals in a population vary significantly from one another (fact).<br />
6. Much of this variation is inheritable as traits based upon conditions of existence called epigenetics (fact).<br />
7. Individuals less suited to the environment (forrest chimps landlocked by the sea) are less likely to survive and less likely to reproduce; individuals more suited to the environment are more likely to survive and more likely to reproduce and leave their inheritable traits to future generations, which produces the process of natural selection (inference).<br />
8. This slowly effected process results in populations changing to adapt to their environments, and ultimately, these variations accumulate over time to form new species (chimps to human progression inference).</p>
<p>So let us take a more modern look at our eccrine glands and how we regard them. Sweating generally is not a subject that gets you into much scientific trouble unless, perhaps, you are being interrogated for some reason. Even a slight dampness of the palms increases the <strong>super conductivity</strong> of your skin, and it may be registered and recorded by a polygraph – the so-called ‘lie detector’. Here again we see the effect of water on conductivity. Your feet also do this for conduction as we walk and also because we can absorb energy from the ground and sea and get rid of the excess salt. This is why grounding is critical to humans.  We are designed to take advantage of it, yet modern life has blocked that huge benefit.  It acts like two desalination plants in our feet that we use a turn on and turn off switch to deal with water and salt since we evolved around a salt water basin. It also acts to increase our conductivity as we move across the landscape we find ourselves in regardless of the food supply.  This makes sense when you have a huge Ferrari engine in your skull.</p>
<p>Eccrine glands from a biochemist stand point might be described as “<strong>inefficient</strong><em>” in four ways: (1) it is slow to start; (2) it is wasteful of water; (3) it is wasteful of salt; (4) it is slow to respond to danger signals when the body’s resources of water and salt are getting low. An enlightened scientist who understands how this system fits into the whole organism as a method of semiconduction for the transfer of energy, however, might think differently about this “<strong>inefficiency</strong></em>”. I don’t believe our eccrine glands are a deficiency in our construction. Rather, I think they have very special role to play in our evolution from the forrest.</p>
<p>One scientist beliefs show you what dogmatism looks like when you suffer from evolutionary myopia. R. W. Newman, summed up his beliefs on what our species predicament is to him in a memorable sentence: ‘Man suffers from a unique trio of conditions: hypotrichosis corpus, hyperhydrosis and polydipsia’ – which is to say we have a subnormal supply of body hair, a supernormal output of sweat, and are under the necessity of drinking much and often.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>WHY DO WE HAVE THIS TRIFECTA OF “IMPERFECTIONS”?</strong></span></p>

<p>He was correct in his observations but clueless in why we are designed this way. So why are we designed this way you ask? Here is what I think are the real reasons behind our adaptations:  Having less hair allows us to collect more photons from sun…….sweating allows us to get rid of excess NaCl from seawater as we swam and ate from, and drinking via our foot eccrines to refill our water superconductors to power our massive energy hog in our brain made from the oysters were foraged for in estuary and the ocean coast.<br />
As our blood volume goes down due to say fake light and increased EMF exposure , the platelet counts goes up, serotonin rises (makes platelets sticky) and the plasma cholesterol rises because we are dehydrated. We see these alterations in older aging people now, and new adopters of the paleo diet, and in business travelers who fly a lot. As humans lose water and salt together our your BP rises, our cholesterol rises and you can clot more easily because your Zeta potential is lowered because you consume more of your Vitamin K2 and CoEnZ  Q10 in your plasma because you can not use water as a super conductor efficiently.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>How humans tapwater using sweat:</strong></span></p>
<p>‘Sweating is an enigma that seems to amount to a major biological blunder: it depletes the body not only of water but also of sodium and other essential electrolytes that are carried off with the water.’ &#8212;- William Montagna</p>
<p>Hold this thought………….and then realize that an NFL football player in the prime of his life recently died of heatstroke during NFL training camp. His name was Korey Stringer. Now think about what Montagna said and what happened to Stringer and think how they are tied together biologically.</p>
<p>Let me give you a hint. <strong>Sweating appeared at a relatively late stage of mammalian evolution.</strong> Eutherian mammals exploded after the K-T event. For 100’s to thousands of years early mammals lived in a freezing cold world that was blocked from the photoelectric effect of the sun, yet they still made enough ATP and survived from the tremendous amount of earthing they did while nesting underground. When the sun came back, they gained an amazing new resource of energy in photons and electrons. Since the already could survive in a more harsh landscape without the sun, they used their new source of energy for a new adaptation. They began to be able to uncouple their inner mitochondrial membranes form ATP production to make free heat from the excess electrons and photons. They evolved uncoupling proteins. This allowed them to generate tremendous internal body heat compared to their ancestors. Early mammals gained warm bloodedness from this adaptation. Uncoupling proteins are controlled by two main hormones. Free T3 and leptin. I spoke about this long ago in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/why-is-oprah-still-obese-leptin-part-3/" target="_blank">leptin series</a>. Free T3 did something else to the mammal……..it was the driving force along with water to cause differential growth in the hind legs over the front legs.</p>
<p>Korey Stringer was leptin resistant when he showed up to Minnesota Viking training camp and he began to exercise in hot temperatures. Because of this, he was unable to uncouple his mitochondria and blow off his excess calories when his exercise called for it. So what happened? His body temp rose and rose and he died of heat stroke. He arrived at the hospital with a body temp of 107 degrees and he was 360 lbs and out of shape. The NFL made it mandatory that &#8220;water&#8221; be available to all players after this tragedy but that does not come close to solving the problem. They look to breed and draft men who are massively enlarged, who become leptin resistant in their younger years,  and they wonder why NFL players die on average at age 58?  I don’t. It is all about mammalian evolution.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>THE TAKE AWAY:</strong></span><br />

<p>This is where the K-T event and then cold thermogenesis began to marry the concept of phase transitions in water and quantum physics and begin to touch the human evolutionary story as time elapsed in the mammalian clade. Moreover, I believe it also directly ties into why we walk on two feet.</p>

<p>Why we became bipedal is one of the more fascinating things in evolutionary biology that remains a modern mystery. They key point for you reading this is to realize in this blog you have the last ten blogs coming together to paint a new reality for how you might work and help you understand why you may still be struggling. The further you stray from you evolutionary design the more inflammation you collect, the worse your hormone panel looks, and the you begin to need a pill for every ill. You might have to consider spending more money in the doctors office than at the grocery store to buy foods without any labeling as your body falls apart at age 35 for what you think is no good reason. It is time for you to look into your own mirror and see just how disconnected you really are from your own owners manual. Today, begin to refuse to walk carefully through life only to arrive safely at death’s door. When you know better you simply do better. A mile of worries won’t take you as far as one millimeter of action to take control of your thinking about health.</p>

<p>When most people think of water they think of liquid water coming from their tap.  Coherent water is a different animal altogether.  It is water that is structured to be supremely cooperative in a living biologic system.  It allows water to have local interactions with other molecules of water or something else so that the local interactions can have global effects, and this coherence means it is also bidirectional.  That means the global effects can effect local interactions.  Coherent water is best thought of as the whole of its actions being much greater than the sum of its molecular parts.  This is how life uses water.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em><strong>Bulk liquid water is therefore a two-fluid system consisting of a coherent phase.   Close to 40 percent of total volume of water at room temperature is actually capable of being coherent.  The remainder 60% is  present as an incoherent phase of water.   </strong></em></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">KEY POINT:</span>   In the coherent phase, the water molecules oscillate between two electronic configurations in phase with a resonating EMF.</strong><em><strong> </strong></em></p>

<p><em><strong></strong></em>Moreover, close to 65 years ago, the father of biochemistry, Hungarian born U.S. scientist <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Szent-Györgyi" target="_blank">Albert Szent-Gyorgyi </a>had already highlighted the importance of water for life, and proposed that organized water existing close to surfaces, such as found in cell membranes, is able to induce a very long lasting electronic excitation via resonant transfer of the different molecular species present in liquid crystals, thereby activating them and enabling their mutual attraction for reactions to take place .</p>
<p>We saw in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/quantum-biology-3-queer-water/" target="_blank">QB- 3</a>,  that ice forms tetrahedron molecules that are arranged in hexagon (6 sides) rings. X-ray and neutron diffraction have showed us this to be factual.  At the poles on earth,  ice takes on another form in <a href="http://ethomas.web.wesleyan.edu/ees123/clathrate.htm" target="_blank">gas clathrates</a>.  In trapped methane gas at the bottom of the Arctic and Antarctic oceans water molecules form pentagonal arrays (5 sides).  The thing that may shock you is that polar ice from the North and South poles actually has been shown to communicate with one another!</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">WELCOME QUANTUM WATER TO THE STAGE OF LIFE: </span></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>PHYSIC GEEKS:</strong></span>  Roger A. Klein (QED chemist) at Bonn University has found evidence  (2006) of coherence from electronic and quantum chemical computations in the formations of six and five membered rings of ice.  He also found that there is a greater stabilizing energy and much higher electron density at critical bond points for each hydrogen bond in the 5 and 6 membered rings compared to the single hydrogen bond between two liquid water molecules called dimers.  The greater bond strength comes from hydrogen bond shortening within the clustered rings compared to the liquid forms.  This is another property of water that really should have caught the attention of the biochemical world because it shows how water can act coherently from sub atomic level to the macroscopic level on Earth in nature.  It showed chemistry that cooperativity is more due to the increased tetrahedron bonds in water more than cluster sizing alone.  This was no accident of nature.  The hexagonal motif of ice and liquid crystalline water and the edge fused pentagonal motif in gas clathrates occur because of QED interactions.  We now have firm evidence that these large clusters of water exist in liquid water under ordinary conditions on Earth as well.  This implies that liquid water is fully capable of becoming a liquid crystal and enables coherent energy transfer to take place in cells.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RESONANT ENERGY TRANSFER HAPPENS VIA HYDROGEN BONDS in H2O:</span></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Some of this is going to fly way above your head but I will give you the take aways as we go.  This is where the quantum dance of life happens folks.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>CHEMISTRY GEEKS</strong></span>:  at 300 K (27 C) 90% of water molecules are H-bonded normally.  The structure of the hydrogen bonding network however fluctuates on time scales measured in femtoseconds to picoseconds.  The network bonds change molecular orientations, distances, with many bonds breaking and reforming, and their is experimental evidence to show slower rotational motions as well.  Water is very dynamic even at rest because of its molecular structure.  The normal O-H bond stretching vibration is 270 cm -1 wide band centered at -3 400 cm-1 in the infrared region (in a wavenumber or frequency).  As the temperature  decreases, the maximum band shifts to lower frequencies and the envelop changes shape showing an enhancement of H-bonding.  The O-H bond stretching vibration is an indication of both structural and dynamic changes possible in a water network.  What causes the vibrations in the molecular bonding  to alter?  <em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Here is the take away:</span>  </strong></em></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em><strong>Temperature, pressure, and EMF resonant energies from the environment, is the short answer. (think Schumann)</strong></em></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>We know this is true because of two dimensional infrared photon echo spectroscopy studies that have been done on water.  I also learned that researchers at Max Born Institute and the University of Toronto discovered that ultrafast resonant energy transfer takes place in water via dipole coupling in the H-bonded network.  This was proven in their work on <strong>heavy water</strong> (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_water" target="_blank">deuterium oxide</a>).</p>
<p>Traditional bulk water is considered homogenous by most biochemists, and by most people,  but this is not true and was first described by 1901 Nobel laureate Wilhelm Roentgen who discovered X-rays.  He believed water existed in two states and that at ordinary conditions it was at equilibrium as a mixture of both.  Later,  <a href="http://www.depts.ttu.edu/chemistry/Newsletters/2000.pdf" target="_blank">Wilse Robinson</a> at Texas Tech University breathed life back into Roentgen&#8217;s initial work on water  in the 1980&#8242;s.  In the early 1990&#8242;s he showed that water had several densities over -30 to 70 degrees C, proving water clearly has a structure and many iso-forms and densities depending upon the environment water is in.  His experiments also showed that water could be supercooled as we mentioned in the last few blogs.  It is no longer arguable unless you are uninformed about the science.  His work left more questions for us to answer for sure.  This is especially true when we look at the quantize math around the formation and reorganization of the hydrogen bonding network in ice.  We know it exceeds 95% of the bonds in ice but it is not as well worked on a space time scale using picoseconds as it is for liquid water.  We will get to the magic of liquid water and its quasicrystalline structure here soon.</p>
<p>Now, I  would also direct your attention to Martin Chaplin.  He is a scientists at London&#8217;s South Bank University.  He has an outstanding web resource for water called &#8220;<a href="http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/water/" target="_blank">Water Structure and Science</a>.&#8221;  He really looked the X Ray diffraction data, vibration spectra and the presence of big water clusters and their special interactions with the hydrogen bonding network of water as it exists and it phase transitions.  His work on <strong>low density water</strong> <em><strong>in gels</strong> </em>is particular interesting to me.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The reason is in low density water the amount of disorder (entropy) is experimentally much lower than what is found in a random hydrogen bonding network in water.  This might explain why water has the ability to &#8220;supercool&#8221; before its freezing point at 32 F, when it is pure from impurities.   Supercooled water will not turn to ice as one would expect until -20 degrees.  Medicine can take advantage of this effect once they understand how to use it best.  This super cooling phenomena releases a high heat of fusion when it freezes.  This implies a large amount of energy is lost when water turns from a liquid to a solid.  We see this anytime the climate changes cold or in an ice age.  Any time there is a phase transition of water on Earth or in the Universe,  there is a massive change in total energy and with water.  I should you the Total energy equation in detail in the<a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-2-einstein-meet-leptin/" target="_blank"> EMF series</a>, so review it.  Interestingly, that change in energy is often unique and based upon the current water quantized ability or effects.  Those are directly tied to how much low density water is present,  as you will soon see.    Evolutionary biology seems to take full advantage of these effects when it evolution acts.  It is why, extinction events and cold are intimately tied together to allow life to survive when there is a loss of energy for any reason.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Chaplin&#8217;s work can be summarized by saying he showed that computer modeling of the hydrogen bonded networks in water fluctuate locally into an icosahedron molecular forms.</p>
<p>The shape of the water molecule determines is molecular density and its ability to be coherent for energy transfers. Shape of these molecular networks is directly tied to the temperature that water finds itself in.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Coherent water at a glance:</strong></span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>One small detail going wrong in a semiconductor is all it takes in a quantized state to change energy efficiency;  I showed this to you when I asked you to visualize a clean room at an Intel semiconductor plant.  We have the same need for molecular detailing in biology.  The problem is, you and your doctor do not know that yet.  You will if you keep reading this blog. <strong> It turns out, details matter big when you first begin to realize biology is quantized.</strong>  One small detail about water is that when it loses the ability to supercool or super conduct, you become vastly energy inefficient.  This is another way to say you are leptin resistant.  When you are leptin resistant, your hormone panel is also suboptimal.  When you lose water super-conduction you must mostly exist upon ATP for energy which is only efficiently made as we sleep.  If you can not use water you do not sleep well either.  Many other things happen.  For example this is where most spine disease comes from.</p>
<p>Loss of energy  poses a major problem for your mitochondria.  They can never can catch up quickly recycling ATP fast enough to offset the energy production of semiconduction when water conduction is lost.  Therefore for that cell and all its mitochondria,  quantum time speeds up rapidly for your telomeres,  and what happens then is first your labs get trashed and then you first get ill,  and eventually you die earlier than you should have.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Liquid water at an ambient temperature is traditionally thought of as a homogenous liquid with the same average structure of it chemical bonding.  <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Röntgen" target="_blank">Roentgen</a> (discovered X-rays)  was the first of many to question this belief about water, as I mentioned above.  Up until very recently,  this was the dogmatically held belief concerning water.  Wilse Robinson at Texas Tech work showed it and it was later backed up by Martin Chaplin’s work in London.</p>
<p>Chaplin found that water formed a <em><strong>quasicrystal as a liquid in an special shape called and icosahedron</strong></em>.  This was postulated in the 1960’s by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Penrose" target="_blank">Roger Penrose</a>.  You have heard me mention him before in the Brain Gut series for his work on consciousness and microtubules and gamma coherence.  Penrose&#8217;s ideas and work has now been verified,  when in 2011, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Shechtman" target="_blank">Daniel Shechtman</a> won the Nobel Prize for his work on <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quasicrystal" target="_blank">quasicrystals</a> and their abilities to do things that we believed were not possible, just two years ago.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quasicrystal" target="_blank">quasicrystal</a> is an ordered structure that is not periodic.  It can fill all available space, but it lacks a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Translational_symmetry" target="_blank">translational symmetry</a>. Formal crystals have rules that govern their chemistry.  This is covered by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystallographic_restriction_theorem" target="_blank"><b><i>crystallographic restriction theorem</i></b></a>.  It says crystals can have first through fourth order symmetry in nature.  It turns out that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quasicrystal" target="_blank">quasicrystals </a>can have forbidden orders of symmetry such as fifth and sixth order symmetry.  Water is a quasi crystal and these orders of symmetry are what allows water to have coherent properties.  It turns out that Roger Penrose, discovered quasicrystals in his work in mathematics called <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperiodic_tiling" target="_blank">aperiodic tilings</a>.  Penrose is a very famous mathematical cosmologist/physicist who has worked on describing the physics of consciousness for many years.  <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperiodic_tiling" target="_blank">Aperiodic tilings</a> were first discovered in the 1960’s by mathematicians. Penrose originally described a two dimensional tiling with a five fold symmetry mathematically,  and he was able to draw it out as you have seen if you already clicked on the hyperlinks above.  You should.  <strong>These quasicrystals are now considered a new class of solids.  </strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This implies that liquid water you all know and love, <strong> is now considered to be both a liquid and a new kind of solid.  How is that for a surprise!</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The most impressive feature of quasicrystals is that they hold a mathematical irrational constant.  It is consider this way, because this constant can not be formatted as a formal fraction.  Therefore it is given a symbol in a Greek letter <a title="Phi (letter)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phi_(letter)">phi</a> (<img alt="\varphi" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/3/5/3/3538eb9c84efdcbd130c4c953781cfdb.png" />) or referred to as the<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio" target="_blank"> golden ratio or golden proportion.</a>   This constant is embedded in the structure of the quasicrystal itself.  This in turn underpins a number sequence worked out by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number" target="_blank">Fibonacci</a> in the 13<sup>th</sup> century, where each number is the sum of the preceding two.   <a href="http://www.maths.surrey.ac.uk/hosted-sites/R.Knott/Fibonacci/fibnat.html" target="_blank">Fibonacci math</a> is tied directly to<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE2EiI-UfsE" target="_blank"> fractal patterning</a> of all things found that are living on this planet.  This math shows us humans that everything that is used in our microcosm is patterned after the great design of our macrocosm.  All one needs to do is look for the pattern and you will find it everywhere.  It is really used in the molecular structure of water, especially coherent water.  Make sure you watch the hyperlink on fractals above. Evolution is found to use fractal patterning over and over again using this aperiodic tilings found in things made from or with quasicrystals.</p>

<p>The Fibonacci sequence is a sequence of numbers, 1, 1, 2, ,3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, where the ratio of the number in the sequence to the previous number approaches the Greek letter <a title="Phi (letter)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phi_(letter)">phi</a> (<img alt="\varphi" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/3/5/3/3538eb9c84efdcbd130c4c953781cfdb.png" />) of the golden ratio asymptomatically.  That means more and more as the sequence goes on with bigger numbers the closer we get to the golden ratio or golden proportion.  That ratio is approximately 1.61803398874989.  It carries out infinitely and never stops, and therefore it can never be found as a round number.  This completely jives with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncertainty_principle" target="_blank">Heisenberg principle of uncertainty</a> as well I have mentioned many times on this blog and on the forum.</p>

<p>Here is where nature and math meet.  The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icosahedron" target="_blank">icosahedron</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodecahedron" target="_blank">dodecahedron</a> (12 pentagonal sides) are the last two <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_solid" target="_blank">Platonic solids</a>.  The first three Platonic solids being the tetrahedron, the cube, and the octahedron.  The icosahedron and dodecahedron are the only ones associated the golden proportion or golden ratio in its dimensions.  Interestingly, Plato associated the icosahedron with water,  and the dodecahedron with the universe in his writings.  Once again, we see the microcosm of water meeting the macrocosm of the universe.</p>

<p>The golden ratio was the Greek ideal of beauty and harmony in all life.  It had a tremendous influence their architecture, art, and design and it persists even today.  Plastic surgeons still use it at times for facial surgery.  Physicists have remarked that it is significant that quasicrystals do represent the minimum energy structures, and hence a kind of equilibrium between harmony and tension in just the correct degree where the beauty of nature lies.   This place is where life took its form and from this form comes some of its amazing functions.  Water is the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_crystals" target="_blank">ultimate liquid quasicrystal.</a></p>

<p>The two state model of water was postulated, first by mathematicians and it has now been confirmed by X-ray scattering and X-ray Raman scattering at Stanford University.  Researchers were able to show clearly that water at ordinary temperatures has two distinct states with no intermediate states.  Low density water (<strong>LDW</strong>), where water molecules are hydrogen bonded like ice in tetrahedron bonding patterns, and high density water, (<strong>HDW</strong>) which has molecules linked by more distorted hydrogen bonds.  These two density states fluctuate occur over the length scale of −1.2 nanometers.  For visualization purposes, −1.2 nm contains 160 molecules of water stacked together next to one another.  At 24 degree Celcius,  the proportion of<strong> LDW</strong> bonding is 28.6%, and it only disappears completely when water gets to its boiling point.</p>

<p><strong>Why should this complicated math and physics be important to you?</strong></p>

<p>Well it appears that <strong>LDW</strong> is how water is able to superconduct photons and electrons.  This is when water is really coherent.  The more <strong>LDW</strong> water has in its quasicrystallline form the more energy life has to evolve and adapt.  The closer water gets to it boiling point the more <strong>HDW</strong> is present and the less <strong>LDW</strong> is present.</p>

<p>When a human being has a fever, their metabolic rate increase 13% for ever degree their temp rises.  Do you see the congruency why this is true now given what you are learning about water here?  Let me pose another thing for you to think about?  When one is leptin resistant,  it means their inflammatory levels are raised.  We have shown that in many blogs.  What do you suppose that means for the ratio of <strong>LDW to HDW</strong>?   If you don’t think this matters to you,  consider the following research.  <em><strong>Realize that its results are drawn from the new work on the two state model of water.  </strong></em></p>

<p>In a German study, by Franz Volhard Clinical Research Center, Michael Boschmann MD tracked energy expenditures in men and women who were healthy.  After drinking 17 oz of water the patients <b>metabolic rates increased 30%</b>.  The increase began ten minutes after drinking and maxed out at 30 to 40 minutes post drinking.  <b>Rates, however,  did differ in men and women.   </b>In men, they burned more fat after drinking the water, while in women,  they tended to break down carbohydrate substrates better with water ingestion. In fact, it also appears the colder the water is, the better the effect for women.  These implications should make a lot of sense if you are beginning to understand the role of leptin in women and in epigenetics.</p>

<p>In 2002, the Journal of Epidemiology found drinking more than 5 glasses of water a day reduced fatal heart attack by 50% in both sexes.</p>

<p>Doing that math, if you increase your water consumption 1.5 liters a day you will burn 17,400 calories and lose about 5 pounds.</p>

<p>You should never rely on thirst to dictate water consumption, because it lags the real effect. Calculating your<a href="http://www.ccmtutorials.com/problems/explore/name/hypernatremia.htm" target="_blank"> total body water deficit</a> is another way to try to measure how badly your engine is working.  We covered this in the April webinar.  By the time thirst kicks in your serum osmolarity is already impaired. Dehydration is a major cause of day time fatigue as well, and dehydration slows your metabolism by 2-3%. As time goes on this imbalance can steepen dramatically in a person in an altered environment.  In fact, just a 2% drop in total body water can cause neurologic changes to show up.  How do I know this?  I am a neurosurgeon,  and we see these swings all the time in trauma cases and and brain tumors that are associated with syndromes called SIADH, cerebral salt wasting syndrome, and diabetes insipidus.   Now think about what I mentioned in the April webinar for our members.  Are you beginning to connect any dots?</p>

<p>We have shared a lot of information in the EMF and Quantum Biology series and today we are going to tie some of these concepts together to give you a picture of what the causes of metabolic syndrome might really be.  This disease is now a runaway neolithic disease over the last 20 years.  The fact that close to 26% of the population is obese and T2D is now no longer just a disease of obese people should begin to get scientist asking better question of the real etiology of this condition.  It really has not.  They remain prisoners to old beliefs about the disease.  What is clear today, when a person has the up to date current perspective of published biology, chemistry, and biology, is that all disciplines are connected deeply.  Biology is the science of life, but it becomes one with physics, and the science of matter and its motion.  We only seem to become aware of this situation while living our lives and becoming very observant of this synergy.  Our living as sentient beings, makes us the real experts on the laws of real nature.  Science is based upon observation of nature at its core.  Evidence based medicine is far off this target today.  This may help you understand why Metabolic Syndrome is a runaway disease today.  In 2012, the US government spent 270 billion dollars on treatment for this one condition.  20 years ago it was around a billion dollars.  Something has radically changed environmentally and it is not the 9 billion inhabitants genes on this planet that have adapted this quickly.  Their epigenetic pressures however have, and this is the source of the medical bill we get.  You need to begin to question much of what you believe about neolithic disease today.  Today’s blog delves into deep connections of those disciplines to help you understand what confuses your doctors today.   Metabolic Syndrome is being treated via a cookbook called evidence based medicine.  Much of what we believe about this disease is based upon a house of cards.</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s conventional wisdom advice is that people are told to eat a high carb and low fat diet to combat metabolic syndrome by the system.  They are treated with drugs to lower glucose levels and drugs to raise endogenous insulin levels, or insulin itself.  The numbers of diabetics just grows exponentially when we do this.  This should be a sign to change course to a new approach.  We might consider a ketogenic diet to tackle this disease, while cutting artificial light, EMF, pesticides, and the use of omega six industrial oils.  So far this has fallen on deaf ears.  All mitochondrial diseases and inefficiencies are tied to alterations in Calcium metabolism in mitochondria.  This is precisely how EMF acts in a biologic construct.  So now that we live in an altered field 100% of the time because of the modern tech boom you might see why I think the smoking gun is obvious.  Biology and physics just need to get their researchers together to see the picture I am painting.</p>

<p>When you eat a ketogenic diet most clinicians seem to have forgotten what really happens in a human’s biochemistry in their liver.  We begin to force electrons to bypass complex one at the inner mitochondrial membrane during electron transport and enter complex two more consistently.   FADH2 is an integral component of complex two. You originally heard about this in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/do-food-electrons-impart-a-quantum-effect/" target="_blank">quantum electron post</a>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;but what did not I tell you?  Why does a ketogenic diet work in T1D, T2D, and to lose weight?  <em>When you lose water conduction (<a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/what-powers-life-and-death/" target="_blank">protonicity)</a>  to make energy, you begin to use ATP as a primary fuel source.  The real problem arises when you no longer can make adequate ATP because of a protein confirmational change which happens at cytochrome 1 called NADH.  </em></p>

<p><em></em><strong>When this happens at the inner mitochondrial membrane you lose the ability of proper nanoscopic protein folding of cytochrome 1 and the result is constant chronic inflammation that depletes you of Vitamin D and cause a steady decline in the ability to make endogenous hormones from the PPP.</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>GEEKS:</strong> </span> <strong><em> the ketogenic diet</em></strong> with glucose depletion– When this is the dietary template over a period of a few weeks it induces gene transcription in the mitochondria.  When mitochondrial signaling is altered we get something called <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heteroplasmy" target="_blank">mitochondrial heteroplasmy</a>.   Mitochondrial heteroplasmy refers to the cellular phenotype where there exists a population of normal mitochondria called wild type in many papers and books,  and mutated mitochondria called mtDNA mutations.  This scenario occurs in several inherited genetic disorders, but also occurs with accelerated aging due to poor epigenetics.  Accelerating aging is seen in T2D, Metabolic Syndrome, Obesity and PCOS.  This is why these diseases all share some degree of mitochondrial damage.  In in vitro studies of artificially created cybrid cells with mitochondrial heteroplasmy, a <em><a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2955999/">glucose-depleted (not glucose free), bathed in a ketongenic cell media</a>,  </em><em><a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2955999/"> promoted an increase in wild type mitochondria and decreased the proportion of mutant mitochondria.</a>    <strong>This means a ketogenic diet can potential reverse a disease process at the mitochondrial level if mitochondrial signaling is altered in the pathophysiology of the disease.  </strong></em><strong>In Metabolic Syndrome it is the key factor.</strong><em><strong>  </strong></em></p>
<p>A <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic_diet">ketogenic diet</a></em> is one that features keytone bodies as energy sources rather than glucose and involves metabolism in the <strong>cytoplasm</strong> instead of in mitochondria.  Why is this important?  The cytoplasm is where coherent water is bound to the positive semiconductors in carbon nanotubes.  This is precisely where the quantum effects of energy transduction would occur.  Any decrease in cytosolic energy levels is then directly transmitted to the mitochondria as a signal.  This signal is used to drive molecular pathways in mitochondria that tell the mitochondria what is the best choice to make for the cell, and then it stimulates that pathway to completion.  This is how mitochondria sculpt intracellular evolution.  Some of these processes are called <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22743996" target="_blank">mitophagy </a>and mitochondrial biogenesis.  Mitophagy is autophagy of the mitochondria itself.  It has its own biologic pathway distinct from cellular autophagy with its own signaling.  <em><a href="http://circres.ahajournals.org/content/111/9/1208.full.pdf">Mitophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis</a></em> are closely coupled to avoid mitochondrial depletion in tissues and cause cell death.  If it did organs would fail early.  When this does fail in pancreatic beta cells early we see the disease T2D.    Excessive autophagy without mitochondrial biogenesis overstresses the remaining &#8220;good&#8221; mitochondria, triggering cell suicide or apoptosis.  Clearing our bad mitochondria is a healthy thing for the cell and the organ involved.  When this process slows or fails we get slow organ failure.  This is how heart failure and kidney failure develop in Metabolic Syndrome.  Glucose inhibitors such as 2-deoxyglucose which prevent glycolysis and are essentially “<strong>calorie restriction mimetics</strong>” have also been shown to select for health mitochondria and to get rid of damaged mitochondria.  What else is a calorie restriction signal?  The cold environment is.   This is how the diet and the environment  were effectively used to transduce the outside signals of the world to the internal signals in the cell in the mitochondria to drive intracellular decision making.  The ketogenic diet is a dietary induction of selective mutant mitophagy.  Ketogenic diets are designed to naturally occur in cold climates for a deep evolutionary purpose.  They help reverse the damage the mitochondria face in the spring and summer months when carbohydrates are supposed to fueling electron chain transport via the diet.  These foods are designed to cause more leakiness at cytochrome one over 4-6 months.  In winter, life is looking to repair the damage with ketosis.  When you never face a true winter in life&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.well you get Metabolic Syndrome.</p>
<p>The paleosphere calls people with this defect metabolic derranged.  I do not.  I call it a mitochondrial inefficiency because it means they have to rely on ATP because they have lost their main ability to generate piezoelectric currents in collagen and water in their bodies.  This throws off the nanoscopic precision required for quantum tunneling that occurs in the inner mitochondrial membrane and this causes increased ROS and metabolic syndrome.  Vitamin B3 can really help for those with minor protein folding issues at cytochrome 1 early on in this disease process.</p>
<p><strong>Niacin:    This is also why niacin works in these diseases because it is a ketone mimic drug</strong>. Why?   Niacin also known as vitamin B3, nicotinic acid and vitamin PP, is an organic compound with the formula C6H5NO2 and one of the 40 to 80 essential human nutrients. In fact, when niacin deficiency is present it is one of 5 vitamins that causes a pandemic disease condition called pellagra. But it can be used to bypass a &#8220;broken&#8221; cytochrome 1 when mis-folding (due to a chronic ATP deficiency, <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-7-quantum-prometheus/" target="_blank">think EMF 7</a>).   Why  is understanding this hardcore biochemistry important?  It underpins why understanding precision that QED requires is paramount in semiconduction.  Without the proper protein folding you lose quantum tunneling of electrons and you lose the ability slowly to remain an omnivore.  This is where QED takes us&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.Vitamin B3 can help activate PPP when we are broken for some reason when we are ketotic from a dietary stand point using vast amounts of coherent water as I laid out in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/do-food-electrons-impart-a-quantum-effect/" target="_blank">quantum electron blog post</a>.   The PPP is responsible for making the chemical rings found in all human hormones.  They become unstable as well when intracellular water is lost because cholesterol is a polar molecule as well and does well in a lipid and water environment to act.  Its action at receptor sites is critically important in how the hormones work in the nucleus to turn on and off our epigenome.</p>
<p>Yes people,  niacin is a precursor to NAD+/NADH (cytochrome 1) and NADP+/NADPH (the magic of the PPP), which play essential metabolic roles in all living cells as I showed in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-4-why-might-you-need-carbs-for-performance/" target="_blank">EMF 4</a>.  Niacin cannot be directly converted to nicotinamide, but both compounds could be converted to NAD and NADP in vivo and this information is very valuable when you have liver leptin resistance, metabolic syndrome, or epilepsy.  It also is important for those with liver viral diseases like hepatitis B, C, D, and E.  These patients also tend to to well on niacin and a high fat diet for these reasons.</p>

<p>When cytochrome 1 has mis-folded electron transport proteins (quinolone issue of CoEnQ10) you need to bypass it 100% of the time by eating fats, predominately,  because if you don&#8217;t, your mitochondria begin to make massive amounts of ROS that overwhelms the cell, thereby lowering your vitamin D levels as well as most other hormones.  This is due to the pregnenolone steal syndrome we spoke about in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/hormone-cascade-101/" target="_blank">Hormone 101 blog post</a>, and as time elapses, eventually shortens its telomeres to cause cellular signaling problems that lead to either senesence or cancer. The reason why this occurs is more interesting.</p>

<p>NAD+ builds up in relation to NADH levels on a per unit basis biochemically. Increasing the NAD+ in comparison to NADH changes a most of the mechanistic reductive biochemistry that occurs downstream.  This occurs by signaling in the protein kinase B pathways of cells. Why is that a big deal you ask? The AKT pathway is also known as protein kinase B pathway (PKB).  It is a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase that plays a key role in multiple cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, apoptosis, cell proliferation, transcription and cell migration.  It is a major player in all things tied to metabolic syndrome.</p>

<p>Akt1 is involved in cellular survival pathways, by inhibiting apoptotic processes. Akt1 is also able to induce protein synthesis pathways, and is therefore a key signaling protein in the cellular pathways that lead to skeletal muscle hypertrophy, and general tissue growth. Since it can block apoptosis, and thereby promote cell survival, Akt1 has been implicated as a major factor in many types of cancer.   Akt (now also called Akt1) was originally identified as the oncogene in the transforming retrovirus, AKT8.   In a mouse which is null for Akt1 but normal for Akt2, glucose homeostasis is unperturbed, but the animals are smaller, consistent with a role for Akt1 in growth.  In contrast, mice which do not have Akt2, but have normal Akt1, have mild growth deficiency and display a diabetic phenotype (insulin resistance/ T2D), again consistent with the idea that Akt2 is more specific for the insulin receptor signaling pathway. The role of Akt3 is less clear, though it appears to be predominantly expressed in the brain. It has been reported that mice lacking Akt3 have small brains. This is what many believe causes brain shrinkage in all the neurodegenerative disorders that are linked to cytochrome 1 issues.  This also happens to be why every neurodegenerative disease describe to date has an element of protein folding mishaps tied to its pathophysiology.   PCOS is tied to this early on in its evolution,  before the more chronic diseases like metabolic syndrome develop fully. It is a gateway disease for what is coming in future years.</p>

<p>Akt2 is an important signaling molecule in the insulin signaling pathway.   It is required to induce glucose transport in cells.  Here is where metabolic syndrome eventually leads to severe T2D.</p>

<p><strong>The follow through for the biochemistry geeks?</strong> AKT1 is involved in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway and other signaling pathways. These all cause massive changes in cell cycle signaling and in cellular communication.  mTOR is a huge factor in longevity and in cancer progression via the disregulation of the p 53 gene.  Inflammation or ROS must be present simultaneously for this to happen.  If inflammation is not present mTOR activation increases protein synthesis and promotes survival.  Why?  Colllagen is the P semiconductor of life.  It is made from protein. <strong> High dietary protein wont&#8217;  harm or kill you unless inflammation or ROS from cytochrome 1 misfolding is also present. </strong> Context and details matter in quantum biology and too many scientists, researchers and doctors remain unaware of these pitfalls.  I spoke about this very issue in Cold Thermogenesis 6 blog post 18 months ago.</p>

<p><strong>Let’s talk about chronic fatigue patients.</strong>  Do they suffer from the same condition but on a more subacute level?  Yes they do.  Patients with  ME/CFS patients usually have dramatic increases than normal levels of ventricular lactate in the CSF, and 36% less GSH in the cortical regions of the brain.  The cortex is bathed in surface CSF that usually is not able to “proton superconduct” for many reasons.  Fluoride is a dielectric blocker in CSF.   The industrial omega 6 PUFA fats in the surface of their cell membranes in their cortical neurons are the most common reasons for avalanche collapse of proton super conduction in “CSF water” by displacing iodine and causing an up regulation of lactate production to use as a fuel when ketone are not present for energy production to make maximum ATP.   When we have an energy inefficiency in the brain we get neurodegenerative disorders soon following.  This is why Alzhemer’s disease and metabolic syndrome are bedfellows.  It is also why so many fibromyalgia and fatigue patients also have similar phenotypes.</p>

<p>Neurons in the CNS and PNS love lactate, especially when they are sick or ATP in efficient because of poor mitochondrial function for ATP production.  This poor ATP recycling is the signal to the neurons and the brain mitochondria that they are trying to increase proton superconduction in CSF to improve CMRO2.   The higher CMRO2 is the less the brain relies on ATP and the more it uses water superconduction.  It is like a high octane fuel.  Patients with ME/CFS are very energy inefficient and subsequently they have high lactate levels in their CSF because they ARE energy inefficient and poor ATP recyclers. The lactate supply in the brain is made by up regulation of MCT1 which is called mono carboxylic acid transporter 1. People with ME/CFS generally generate a lot of superoxide in the brain as the cause of their disease and not being able to make a lot of ATP and this is why they eat way to many carbs to fast recycle ATP.   This never allows them to open their proteins fully to open the maximum amounts of water binding sites to foster water/proton super conduction.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Neurons in the brain try to avoid superoxide generation at all costs and it usually increase lactate production as a consequence to offset it to use lactate as a secondary fuel source to ketones. Most people with ME/CFS do not use ketones they use glucose for fuels because they are no longer metabolically flexible due to the defects of protein folding at NADH&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;because of what I wrote about in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-4-why-might-you-need-carbs-for-performance/" target="_blank">EMF 4</a>. They use too much complex one because of glucose, glutamate fuels and they try to run their mitochondria on NADH complex one. It can lead to mis-folding if they can not make enough ATP to complete the task. When this fails you activate apoptosis pathway and some of the things I spoke about in the recent Spreecast webinar I did.</p>
<p>You really want to access FADH2, or complex two in electron chain transport on the inner mitochondrial membrane instead using FFA or the ketogenic diet to bypass this issue in these diseases. When one fuels their diet with glucose/carbs you are increasing ROS and superoxide as a consequence. The more you use these fuels the more you increase ROS and superoxide and limit your ability to make ATP.  I covered this in big detail in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-4-why-might-you-need-carbs-for-performance/" target="_blank">EMF 4</a>.</p>

<p>Carbs/glucose supplies the best possible neuronal FADH2:NADH (F/N) ratio of 0.2 to minimize ROS. Moreover, it gives one FADH2 for 5 NADHs when you do this to minimize superoxide maximally. I talked about this very issue in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/do-food-electrons-impart-a-quantum-effect/" target="_blank">quantum electron blog post</a> over two years ago.  The more NADH you make the higher lactate will be made to offset the glucose in the brain&#8230;&#8230;..this shows you why the brain really does not like glucose as a first line fuel contrary to what most believe or regurgitate&#8230;……..ketones and lactate support fat use and lactate use from fuels to protect the brain.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In ME/CFS patients they also constantly and chronically activate the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathways like a diabetic does,  but they do it for different metabolic reasons.  This is why the disease phenotype presents differently.  Under the hood,  however, the quantum biochemistry is the same.  It is caused by poor energy utilization at the mitochondrial level in neurons in the CNS and PNS to cause the symptoms of fibromyalgia.  Now you can see why when this pathway is activated many bad things can happen that are common to T1D, T2D, most cases of leptin resistance with elevations in HS CRP.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>These steps are stops on the way to either final pathway, and we call them neolithic diseases. This gives you an insight into the etiology of the &#8220;quantum causes&#8221; and effects seen in metabolic syndrome early at the mitochondrial level.  All low energy state diseases alter quantum tunneling of electrons in some fashion to cause the disease they do. Life and death is a dance of energy utilization along our inner mitochondrial membrane and on our water molecules.</p>

<p>Most people know that enzymes carry out the chemical reactions in cells.  The can speed up chemical reaction times by  a factor of 10 to the 10th power up until 10 to the 23 rd power.  Water is the quintessential quantum enzyme in human biochemistry.  Its actions are central to all the actions of quantum molecular machines found in us as I showed you in <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/emf-8-quantum-bone/" target="_blank">EMF 8</a>.</p>
<p>Here you saw that interfascial water in Schwann cells were directly responsible for making the piezoelectric current to form in perineural tissues to innervate the periosteum and lay down bone or resorb bone.  The key point for you all to know is that thermodynamically, water enables the organism to function in a zero entropy system as I laid out in<a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/quantum-biology-1-the-zero-entropy-system/" target="_blank"> quantum biology 1.</a></p>
<p>Many people still do not understand that when an organism is in a zero entropy state, it implies it&#8217;s cellular water is no longer functioning as regular &#8216;bulk water&#8217; from your sink, but as quantum coherent water that allows for 100% energy efficiency.  When water is coherent,  it has the ability to function as a wave or particle form to transmit its energy and it is can become entangled with other organs and other life forms in this state.</p>
<p>A coherent activity state implies cohesiveness from the macroscopic world we all know all the way down to the sub atomic zone where the unusual properties matter exist that many can not seem to fathom.   It is where the impossible becomes your new reality.</p>
<p>When water is in coherence with Schumann in a living cell, it means 70% of its liquid crystals allow for amazing multiplicities of action  to occur.  Water is the means, medium and the message of how energy provides all things living their life.  The best way to think of water is a fourth dimension of matter between a liquid and a solid.  The reason for this is water&#8217;s special chemistry.  Because of hydrogen bonding  and its special electrical dipole interactions, it can form long range orientational order by forming long thin molecules together.  We call this molecular anisotropy.</p>
<p>Measuring physical properties of isotropic liquids, such as water or most oils can be done in a straightforward fashion. Their viscosities and densities, for example, have unique values under a given set of conditions. With anisotropic fluids, like liquid crystals, the viscosity, for instance, will not only depend upon temperature, concentration, and most of the physical states they can exist in,  but also upon the direction of observation, degree of anisotropy, source of anisotropy, and so forth. This added degree of complexity <strong>complicates our ability to define the state of the material</strong> at which the measurements are made and generally necessitates the use of more sophisticated measurement strategies or techniques.  Today biophysicists are beginning to measure water&#8217;s molecular anisotropy carefully because of how it interacts with the Schumann resonance to create the quantum jazz that life is built upon.</p>
<p>No liquids have some of these unique properties except water,  and this is what makes it a vital ingredient to all life.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">THE CHEMISTRY OF WATER THAT MAKES IT SPECIAL:</span></strong></p>
<p>When you look at the chemical formula for water, H2O, compared to its neighbors on the periodic table water&#8217;s abilities really make it stick out for the astute observer.  Compounds that bind with hydrogen are all called hydrides.  All hydrides in the first in the first row of the periodic table of elements all are all gases at temperatures above 20 degrees C, except water.  When we consider their boiling points water and hydrogen fluoride stick out.  All boil well below the freezing point of water at 0 degree C.  Moreover, when you move up Group 6a hydrides from Tellurium to Sulfur their boiling points progressively decrease.  Water&#8217;s increases.  Using extrapolation of its neighbor&#8217;s boiling points, water should boil at 75 degrees C instead of 100 degrees C.  Here is another shocker, <strong>water should be a gas at ordinary temperatures and pressures and not a liquid using the chemistry of its neighbors as a guide, but instead it is a liquid.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">WATER AS A &#8216;QUEER&#8217; LIQUID:</span></strong></p>
<p>When water is a liquid it acts in a quite bizarre fashion too.  Water frozen into a solid as ice, floats on the cold liquid.  None of the other hydrides do this.  When ice melts its volume also does not match its liquid form.  Ice expands its volumes from its liquid state and this allows it to break solid stone when it has trapped water in it to cause fractures. Because of this unusual effect, it means that cold liquid water is more dense than when it is in its solid ice form!  This is exactly opposite of what should happen when one considers the chemistry of what happens when other solids become liquids.  They become more dense as a solid then their liquid state because the molecules are more densely packed in this state of matter.  This is good news for shellfish and seafood because water beneath ice remain s liquid and supercool and dense so they can survive winter conditions on the surface.  This is precisely why astrobiologists think life could be on Saturn&#8217;s moon Titan.</p>
<p>Moreover, this is why <strong>supercooled water</strong> you learned about in the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/march-webinar-the-emf-rx/" target="_blank"><strong>EMF Rx</strong></a>, is ideal for super conduction. The cold dense water column (pelagic) is also where the ideal fish from the <a href="http://www.jackkruse.com/brain-gut-6-epi-paleo-rx/" target="_blank">Epi-paleo Rx </a>are usually found as well.  This is precisely why I call these fish more electron dense, because the density and coldness of water increase current flows in semiconduction.  In normal ionic currents colder temperature slow conduction and this is why the ionic gradients that the Mg/ATPase use are generally expendable when the animal is in a state of coherence with its interfascial water.</p>
<p><em><strong>When supercooled water is heated, it does not expand as expected either</strong></em>!!!  <strong>Instead it shrinks</strong>, until a maximum density is reached around 4 degree C.  When it is placed under pressure, both the melting point and the maximum density point of water <strong><em>shift</em> </strong>to even lower temperatures than would be expected.  When chemists examine ordinary liquids, however, higher pressures promote freezing to higher temperatures!!!</p>
<p>What other magic does water contain?  Water becomes less compressible with an increasing temperature, reaching its maximum at 46.5 degrees C.  Warmer liquids tend to be more compressible in this situation and this is why they are used in hydraulic jacks.  With water, as the pressures are raised even higher this anomalous temperature/pressure/volume property completely disappears experimentally.</p>
<p>At ordinary temperature below 35 degrees C, increasing the the pressure actually lowers the viscosity of water which is completely the opposite of what occurs with other liquids.  This becomes very important in how water is able to easily rehydrate the carbon nanotubes you learned about earlier in the series.  It is also why water easily flows against gravity in trees, plants, and in your lower extremities.  It allows for unusual vortices to form that make going against gravity on Earth an easy occurrence.  <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vortex" target="_blank">Vortices</a> and implosion of water in nanotubes can do amazing counterintuitive things.  <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implosion_(mechanical_process)" target="_blank">Implosion technology </a>in water makes this possible.  These observation were first made based  upon the work of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2oCW3Tz7fc" target="_blank">Viktor Schauberger</a>.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">WHAT ABOUT THE BONDING OF WATER?</span></strong></p>
<p>Water is best described as an electric dipole in which its positive and negative charges are separated.  Oxygen contains its negative charge and the two hydrogens have its positive charge.  Dipoles  can stack together in dipole interactions with alternating positive and negative poles next to one another.  They also can interact electrostaticaly with other charged ions and other dipoles that are dissolved in water.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>CHEMISTRY GEEKS:</strong> </span> Water is most famous for forming hydrogen bonds with other water molecules and with other ions dissolved in it.  A hydrogen bond consists of a hydrogen shared between two electronegative atoms like oxygen or sulfur.  the compound that donates the hydrogen to the chemical reaction is the hydrogen donor, and the acceptor atoms is the hydrogen acceptor.  Water is unique because it can be both an acceptor and a donor of hydrogen.  In fact it can donate two hydrogen&#8217;s.  This makes the water molecule take on the tetrahedral structure in its frozen form linked in a crystalline hexagonal array in crystal ice.</p>
<p>The dipole nature and propensity for hydrogen bonding is why water has an unusually high dielectric constant of -78 at room temperature.  this makes it the most polar solvent in all of chemistry and biology!!  This fact alone should have gotten biochemists attention that intracellular water is really critical but it has not.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>PHYSICS GEEKS:</strong> </span> Why is this a big deal?  In QED and semiconduction, anything with this high a dielectric constant becomes easily polarized by an electric field.  This is why the quantum magic can happen with water.  The dielectric constant is also known as a relative static permittivity ability.  This is a measure of the extent of which it concentrates electrostatic lines of flux relative to a vacuum.  This is very important in semiconduction science for coherent flow of current. The hydrogen bonds serve to align the dipoles, and at the same time, pulling away positive and negative charges within the molecule, and this acts to enhance the molecular polarization in liquid water.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NON GEEKS:</strong></span>  Because of these abilities collectively it make water extremely versatile in creating supramolecular structures in water.  This is why water can be thought of as structured and unstructured.  We call unstructured water bulk water.  This has been extensively studied by <a href="http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/water/contr2.html" target="_blank">Dr. Phillipa Wiggins</a>.  To give you an analogy of the variety of the supra structures in water let us consider ice.  In nature, we see snowflakes, icicles, and packed ice in snow caps, in glaciers, and in icebergs.  Snowflakes are so structured that each one is unique in its own right.  When water is studied in the lab there are 15 known crystalline forms of ice that can appear under different temperatures and pressures.  Some are amorphous non crystalline forms of ices and there are glass like ices that are transparent but non crystalline too.</p>
<p>The most impressive forms of water however, for life remains it liquid crystalline abilities to super conduct electrons and protons in nanotubes and across cell membranes.  Liquid water is has no color except when light is shown through it.  This is why the sky is blue.  Scattering of light is inversely proportional to the fourth route of the wavelength through the water vapor of the atmosphere to make the sky gorgeous blue.  This is also why the oceans can be emerald green can be why rainbows exist via the prism effect of light.  Water has no shape, no sound, no movement, little resistance.  It is widely acknowledged now that the hydrogen bonded network of liquid water is what gives it its unique chemistry.</p>
<p>Beyond that agreement however, there is no agreement over how the exact molecular bonding is linked in tetrahedral ice like bonds or how molecules interact with locally with its nearest neighboring molecules or how they can affect molecules on a more macroscopic or global scale.</p>
<p>What is crystal clear today based upon the work of many scientists that there is substantial evidence for the cooperative interactions between water molecules that result in remarkable long range coherence in liquid water under ordinary conditions found on Earth and in the biology of life.</p>
<p>A sick body and brain will begin to crave water and its thirst will increase across most diseases for a good reason.  Illness means a lack of energy and water is the number one option for energy transfer in most living things.  The main issue is <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/mar/25/french-bottled-waters-contaminated-brands" target="_blank">not all water is homogenous</a> as you are beginning to find out.  Watch the world for signs that our species is really ill when its choices begin to change without a good biologic reason why it is changing.  I fully expect government and medical associations blame the link to slicker marketing but I think readers of this blog may know differently.  When our species moves toward water for its <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2292328/WATER-claims-spot-Americans-favorite-drink--ending-sodas-decade-reign-No-1-beverage-choice.html" target="_blank">drink of choice, it maybe a clinical symptom of a bigger biological issue underway world wide.</a></p>
